We had never been to the BWCA before this trip and were flying in so little room to bring gear. Moose Track arranged for everything from 2 nights in lakeside cabin before the trip, guide for 4 nights, all of the gear, permits, and 2 night stay at the cabins after - even lunch with ice cream sandwiches and cold beer when we came in from the trip. This is a family owned resort, and they take very good care of their guests. They will outfit you with food, gear and food, or gear, guide and food. They also have a guest pot luck one night which was a great time to share what other guests were experiencing and share some good food. Wish we could go back every year.
Full kitchen in the cabins.
The canoeing was strenuous with portages, so be prepared to work.

Room Tip: Cannot get closer to a lake than these cabins because they were built a long time ago. They are small as a result too.

Our stay was outstanding. This was the first time that we had been to Ely, Joan and Jim were awesome. We were there to fish and relax and they delivered on both fronts. Jim was very knowledgeable about the fishing patterns and where to go at that time of year. Joan did a great job of keeping us busy with the local attractions. I would recommend staying here to anyone that is looking to get away and still have some creature comforts. We will be going back next year!

Our first time this close to the BWCAW. Highlights: super clean, fully stocked, and spacious enough cabin; feet from the shore; private dock, fire pit, picnic table; access to canoes and kayaks; peaceful and serene surroundings. Great value! The only negative was sharing the "yard" where the fire pit and picnic table were with the cabin next door. Next time we will reserve both and bring the parents or more of our children. There was a bit of intermittent traffic noise, but not enough to keep us from already planning our next visit.

Room Tip: If you want private dock and beachfront, choose any cabin except White Pine.

This was our first time in Ely, and within a few minutes of being at Moose Track we knew we should have allowed for a longer stay. Our cabin was fantastic, just steps from the water. Most memorable are the people there. When we arrived it was a cookout night, and the owners immediately asked us to join them - we felt like family right away! When it was time for our canoe trip, I was nervous because my back was sore but I didn't want to miss the opportunity. They gave me great advice, but best of all was our guide, Craig. He was not only knowledgeable about the area, but also was exceptionally patient and helpful. He even portaged both of our canoes! It all added up to a highlight of our Minnesota road trip, and has us counting the days until we can return. Thanks for a great expereince!

We spent six nights here in our pop-up camper within 10 feet of the shore line of Garden Lake. Only 4 camping sites and in the middle of the week we were the only ones in the camp sites. The shower building has been completely renovated since our last visit, all tiled and new fixtures and one new big hot water heater. had our kayaks beached right outside our camper. You just have to plan some time here camping or in one of their cabins, Ely, Minnesota a fantastic vacation destination.

Room Tip: Except for one all cabins are lakeshore.
