Four of us stayed in one of the panoramic view suites and found it to be very comfortable, clean and well appointed. The view of both the harbor and canal was unparalleled and it was an unbelievable experience to watch the big ships pass so close to the rooms. Really appreciated that you can request a phone call all through the night to advise you when ships will be entering/departing. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. Walking distance to many restaurants, shops and things to do. We look forward to our next visit.

Hotel was super clean. Beds were great. The non-canal views of the parking lot are boring. Continental breakfast was good.

The TV remote is to simple so you have to channel up and down to get to desired channel.

Outstanding! Our suite was very clean and well-appointed with fireplace, jacuzzi, balcony, and separate bedroom. The bed was very comfortable, the linens very good quality. They even provided binoculars for ship watching. With those, you could practically see into the staterooms on the ships! The inn also offers wake-up calls for ships coming through the canal overnight. I had the pleasure of seeing several ships coming and going, so did not sign up for this service. In fact, I was a little concerned that the horns etc that accompany their arrival/departure would wake me up at night. However, we never heard a thing. We had booked a room on the canal side. The view of the canal and the ships coming and going was worth its weight in gold. It felt like you could practically reach out and touch them. It also provided a great view of the lights of the city at night. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Free parking right outside our door was definitely a plus! Its location makes access to Canal Park very easy...just a short walk across the lift bridge and you have access to shops and restaurants galore, without the headache of trying to find parking. The only thing that was not top notch was the weather. We were there the first weekend in June. The temperature never got out of the 40s and with the sustained winds resulted in wind chills in the 20's and 30's. My goal had been to relax on the balcony for some ship and people watching. Instead, I spent the weekend on the couch, watching the ships, the huge swells and white caps, and the torrential rain. So bummed! My friends who are local say that's life on Lake Superior! Nevertheless, we definitely plan to return and will make this hotel our go-to spot for lodging.

Room Tip: Harbor and/or canal views are worth the few extra dollars they cost.

The Canal view was excellent and it was fun to see a tanker come in so close. The jazucci tub and fireplace were a great addition to the room and the binoculars were a nice surprise. Very easy to walk to canal park to see the sights, it's literally just across the bridge.
Also had a nice breakfast in the morning, helpful staff and plenty of resources to find local attractions. They will even call to wake you up so you don't miss a tanker [f you get that excited about boats :) ]

I love this smaller quiet hotel on the Park Point side of the lift bridge. The rooms are modern and comfortable with minifridges, free wifi, and free parking. The location couldn't be better at the foot of the lift bridge! They have free breakfast in the morning.
