We had the burgers last night, excellent presentation and sensational burger patties. I prefer a sesame bun with my burger, but the brioche bun was just fine, efficient service. Well priced drinks.
Great experience.

We booked for my husbands birthday lunch as he particularly wanted a carvery but when we arrived unfortunately we were told that all the meat had gone except for gammon which was very disappointing. We opted for the other menu instead. 2 of us had starters - cheese soufflé and salmon parcels with prawns...they were absolutely fantastic! We then had 2 sirloin steaks, mushroom stroganoff, chips and belly pork which were all absolutely fantastic too...the portions sizes were great.

We ordered our food and drinks quickly but had to wait quite some time for our drinks to arrive.

We had a lovely experience and would definitely come back but the 3 points reflects the carvery disappointment (especially as it was a birthday treat!) and the long wait for our drinks. The atmosphere in the pub and the staff were lovely.

Oh dear.
Everything started off so well. Admittedly the decor is rather shabby, unless the silver duct tape on the arm of the leather sofa was ironic shabby chic, but the starters were good. So was the duck which we had for the main.

However, service was a little poor. A man in a flat cap spent most of the time 'wiping things' and we were left feeling neglected. The restaurant wasn't overly busy. My partner ordered the white chocolate 'blondie' which was uncooked dough. Upon enquiry, the cheeseboard was compiled of cheese from ingredients from the menu e.g. Tickler Chedder, Stilton and Brie. Would have liked to see something a little different...

Interestingly the standard service question "how was your meal?" was not asked... at all. I wonder if they knew what the answer would be.
