Great food, on the more expensive side, but a nice cozy atmosphere too, and knowledgeable servers that treat you well.

In town for HS graduation ceremony and wanted to break away from the larger chain type restaurants in Maple Grove, so chose Buona Sera based on excellent TripAdvisor reviews. Our party of six all liked the lovely atmosphere in the restaurant.
(Showing the Rick Steves visit to Italy on the TV probably helps that atmosphere; pretty clever.) Our server, Scott, was almost TOO enthusiastic, but did a good job of recommending an excellent Chianti Reserve for us to taste and share.
Our breaded shrimp and breaded calamari appetizers were also very good.

Unfortunately, Scott waxed philosophic about virtually every dinner offered on the extensive menu, so he really didn't help us in that regard, and I think led us down a path with the salmon. So, some of the winners that everyone agreed were worthy of his praise: Lobster Ravioli, yum! Chicken Saltimboca was also good. The dinners that Scott talked us into that scored quite a bit lower in our collective opinion were the Glazed Salmon (salmon was good, but smothered in a barbeque like sauce. glaze?) and the fresh walleye (OK, but not so great). We all collectively agreed that the portions are quite large and the tomato sauce on the pasta side dishes was forgettable.
So, the evening was enjoyable despite some dinner disappointments, but we will be back! This restaurant definitely has potential.

Buono Sera is totally a winner. Great service, broad menu and exceptional specials. We all enjoyed Buono Sera and had a wide variety of meals, all of which were great! Chicken Saltimboca, shrimp Scampi, Lobster Ravioli and Glazed Salmon - and everybody raved about their meal. It’s small though so you’d better have a reservation.

First make reservations the restaurant is a old house converted to a cozy place. Pricing is 15 to 20 for more items with some items being market priced. Appetizers are right around 10. The spinach dip is wonderful even my son loved it! We had 4 different meals the red sauce is fantastic with almost too much on the pasta. The Alfredo sauce was the best. Huge portions enough to share so you can save room for appetizers or dessert! Service was top notch with great recommendation. There are specials that change!! We will definitely go back!
