Always stay here when I come to the Peaks. The last time I stayed here in September 2020 I had a brand new room which was immaculate. However this time, we got lumbered with their worst room so now my boyfriend thinks I'm a total liar since I told him what a nice modern hotel it is! The bedframe was falling apart, other furniture was falling apart, there was stains all over the carpet, the window was painted shut, it was boiling hot, the bed moved across the floor with everytime one of us rolled over. Not to mention it definitely wasn't a double bed. You know a hotel bed is bad when you sit there and think that it would've been nicer to stay at home and slept in our own king sized bed that DOESN'T move across the floor.... I understand they're in the process of renovating and probably haven't made it all the way around the rooms yet but I would've expected a discount for the awful room we were lumbered with and I paid the same rate for the new room I stayed in a few months earlier. The only reason I give three stars is because the spa is incredible. For the last hour of our spa slot, we had the entire room to ourselves. I tried to pre-book spa access which was £30pp for a few hours however it wasn't working. We managed to make a reservation easily as soon as we arrived and we didn't have to pay anything... We'd come back for the spa alone.More
