My partner booked this spa break for a night for my birthday. The spa was fantastic and we spent 5 and half hours in there. There is a bar in the spa bit which is nice. I loved the hot tub outside over looking beautiful scenery. The food was superb. We had a 3 Course meal and it was fantastic. The hotel is covid secure as well and the grounds are beautiful. Its a very clean place. The restaurant was really nicely decorated and the view out the windows was breath taking. The thing that really let the experience down was the room we had a we had an apparently newly refurbished room and it really wasn't the lamp shades had burn marks on them and the room didn't match up to the rest of the hotel and spa. The rooms need upgrading and up dating. We would go back for the spa and the food.

Booked here last minute after our trip to Wales was cancelled and I’m so glad we did! Our 2 night stay was so relaxing and enjoyable and I’m glad we got in a little bit of normality before the year is out! Check in was super easy, however we got to the room and it wasn’t an upgraded one that I’d paid extra to secure so reception happily room moved us, for us to find the second room didn’t have a bath! After feeling awful and asking to be moved again we were absolutely blown away by our third time lucky room. A beautiful suite with separate lounge area, 364.

We had two gorgeous meals in the restaurant with fantastic service from Sam and a huge thank you to James for sorting out our bookings after they were slightly mixed up after our room move.

The new spa is one of the nicest in the North West, and I’ve been to many!! We enjoyed 2 treatments each which were also fantastic and a special mention to Keely the therapist who did the best hot rock massage I’ve ever had and will now make a regular thing . Love that they use Decleor products, we purchased the advent calendar as a good way to try lots of the different products!

I will be recommending Shrigley to all of my friends and family. Thank you for such a lovely stay!

Good morning charlottesM4200GT,

Very positive to read that after an initial mix up regarding your room, you went on to enjoy a fabulous stay here at Shrigley Hall. We are receiving excellent feedback regarding the food and service provided in the Restaurant at present, and along with our newly refurbished spa, it appears that the team are really helping to deliver a great experience for our guests.

Your comments will be passed on to the team members mentioned and many thanks for the recommendations - much appreciated.

Good morning Connector821235 for visiting the hotel and for your very positive review!

Our refurbished spa has proved hugely popular with our guests who have enjoyed it since the hotel re-opened. The project is nearly complete, so you will hopefully consider a return visit when done.

Encouraging comments regarding the restaurant as well - your thanks will obviously be passed on to Ashleigh & team.

Thanks again

We arrived and was greeted kindly by the receptionist who was very helpful and gave us all the information we needed. When arriving in the room there wasn’t any hot water so I rang down and they sent to maid in to have a look just incase I wasn’t doing it right. She was so lovely but unfortunately couldn’t fix it nor could the maintenance guy. After speaker to the concierge, Eamonn, he sorted us out with the most amazing room over looking the whole golf course for the inconvenience with a fantastic balcony, room 111. It Was absolutely beautiful. The service and care we got was phenomenal. The food was delicious with a good variety and the spa was a lovely experience. Made my partners birthday a special one in spite of COVID. Amazing staff. Would Recommend this place 100%. Hope after COVID it is still here for me to visit again!

Good morning SD0807,

Many thanks for such a positive review. It started out with a challenge with the water, but great to see that Eamonn looked after you so well and what better room in which to celebrate your partners birthday than room 111! The views from the room are stunning and we're pleased that you subsequently enjoyed your stay with us so much.

Looking forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Thanks again

The place was nice but I was very disappointed with the room, it was very old and dated unlike the rooms showcased on the website. There was some damp/mould on the wall/ceiling and the window was facing the bins so it was very loud and not a very nice view. Sad for £140/night, even though I can only imagine the hotel was not on full capacity due to covid.

The restaurants and staffs were really nice, but we had to pay £39/each to have access to the spa for 3 hours but the 2 outdoor hot tubs didn’t work.. and the outdoor swimming pool was freezing.

The location was great but unfortunately our experience was not as good as expected, and I am disappointed.
