“A great spot for Lunch...and TRULY a cut above.”
Review of Cafe Meteor Bistro

Cafe Meteor Bistro
Ranked #1 of 7 Restaurants in Haileybury
Price range: US$8 - US$38
Description: The Cafe Meteor Bistro is located downtown Haileybury at 485 Ferguson, a few steps from lake Temiskaming, the marina and public beach. The restaurant is named after the famous steamship that navigated lake Temiskaming for 40 years and brought pioneers on both sides of the Lake. For the morning Café, we have our own Meteor coffee blend, our lattes, fresh pastries and we also serve breakfast. For lunch, we offer local comfort food and part of our menu changes every week. We are open for dinner Wednesday to Saturday with a classic bistro menu.

This is likely the most interesting eating establishment in the whole of Temiskaming Shores. This isn't your run of the mill same old/same old standard fare emporium. Want to raise your level of culinary excitement? Check out the Meteor. Time to let your taste buds set sail.

Too far to drive? From Liskeard? Give your head a shake. Live a little.

But they don't 'do' dinner... ... ...yet. A cut above. I hope it survives because the area deserves something better than just more of the same old/same old. Do lunch here at least once during your visit if you don't want just more of the same.

Very lovely atmosphere with creative and modern ideas. Also almost a museum of the history of the area. Great service. Run by the owners of several upscale Band B places in the area including the President's Suites . We were a bit disappointed with some of the food the day we went for lunch but the menu changes every day and the soup we had a few days earlier was excellent so I would go there again any time. Prices can be a bit high for the quantity but being home cooked every day with fresh ingredients may be expensive to prepare.
