We stayed in the Al-Husn hotel for a week at the beginning of June, and have to say it was an absolute pleasure from check-in to check-out.

Our room was comfortable, well equipped and offered fantastic sea views, including the private beach which allowed us to check how busy it was, and the sea conditions.

Whilst the complex was relatively quiet due to Ramadan and the refurbishment closure of the Al-Bandar, we benefitted from the very best levels of service and hospitality.

Special mention has to go to all of the staff greeting us in the lobby - always smiling and helpful whatever time of day, the concierge's who will arrange any trips you need and to all of the pool/beach staff who made sure we had clean towels, cold drinks, cold towels and regular sorbets to deal with the heat.

Finally the dining. A fantastic variety of food on offer from the various restaurants, from all you can eat buffets to fine a la carte dining. In the Al-Husn, a very special mention must go to the ever present German restaurant manager Robert, who always took time to ensure we were getting everything we needed, stopped to chat and engage the guests and supplied me with a very special ice pack to help with the bruising to my eyes from my diving accident.

All in all superb - cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms at the ends of the hotel furthest away from reception are much quieter

it was wonderful place to spend beautiful time ,comfortable and calm,the best place in thegulf ,i highly recommend it for all..you can also enjoy the all place including Al Husn resort and Al bandar and Al Waha facilities

BEST HOTEL IN OMAN
Having already experienced The Chedi, Al-Bustan and Salalah Hilton, we rated Al Husn Hotel as the best 2017 hotel in Oman.
We had room 1231 which is located at the corner of the South wing.Beautiful view of the beach as well as of the Oman Gulf from the balcony. Very modern and functional bathroom. Bedding is exceptionally comfortable. Considering the standard of the hotel, the room is not spacious enough, though. Breakfast is copious and served in a shadow terrace. There is an incredible choice of fresh fruit and a variety of healthy food and customized juices. The German F&B manager is an hardworking and passionate man who is caring for details and constant service quality, delivered by the group of multicultural waiters. The little creek and sandy beach is very intimate. VIPs stay usually there. I swam there every morning; one day the lifeguard displayed the medusas warning. However, I met none. There are free of charges amenities such as Cajack and snorkling material.
The heated infinity pool is tempting all day long and it is difficult to leave the place at the end of the day. Outstanding service around the pool with individual small fridge and Evian brumizatour and juices.
At 17:00 there is the daily British high tea, followed by the aperitif at 16:00 which is an excellent setting to socialize with other guests.
The seafood Bait-Al Bahr, in the sea front is serving fresh and tasting lobster, just catched. Capri Court is the excellent Italian restaurant where the olive oil is coming from Taggia.

What a wonderful hotel. Simply. This hotel just couldn't get anything wrong.
This was our honeymoon destination and we spent 3 nights/4 days there.

It all started when I gave them a call after reserving online, and informed them that we'd be arriving early to the hotel and this would be our honeymoon destination. They were more than happy about our arrival/departure times and said they would do all thy can to accommodate early check in/late check out. We arrived and were greeted personally by both the porter and the general manager (Milan), who was very welcoming and had us take a seat while our check in formalities were taken care of. After a very quick check in process, the very helpful and cheerful front desk lady (Anissa) escorted us to our room and gave us a brief explanation of what we can expect during our stay, which was great ! The property is gorgeous. The pool, private beach, corridors, rooms, balconies, bathrooms, and beds were just great. The bathroom is quite spacious with a very nice tub, and our balcony was overlooking the beach and sea (chose the sea view deluxe room), which was definitely worth it. Minibar is all included and replenished daily at your request. The breakfast was wonderful, and all the waiters were absolute stars. Service was great, the selection was very nice, and the a la carte breakfast options would arrive freshly cooked by the chef, and as per order, perfect every time.

What I would like to focus on here is attention to detail. The hotel could not fail to impress us on a daily basis. From the day we arrived, they took our honeymoon "note" quite seriously, and were greeted with many beautiful smiles at the front desk. Arriving into our room, a beautiful chocolate cake and date champagne bottle were awaiting us, with "happy honeymoon" written on it. But what surprised us even more, was that the next day was my wife's birthday. I didn't tell them anything about it, and with the compliments of the hotel, we received a surprise birthday cake delivered to our room. My wife just loved the gesture.

Afternoon tea and pre dinner cocktails are a must. Great service, and they are very generous with their drinks and canapes.

The pool would always be very quiet and calm (since its an adult only hotel), and they always keep a cooler next to you filled with ice, facial spray, water, and juices. Just perfect every time.

The manager is very present at the hotel, and would pass by the guests every day as they have their pre dinner cocktails. He greets everyone with a smile, and always makes you feel welcome. We loved and deeply appreciated how he greeted us at the door of the hotel just before check in.


It was a great stay, and we'd definitely repeat it soon ! Thanks to all the staff who made our honeymoon very special!

This is our second visit this year. The first was to see if I could cope with the heat, and this one was for longer.
We had originally booked to stay at the Al Bustan Palace, but this is closed for refurbishment and we chose the Al Husn. We are very glad we did!
Once again the service level is fantastic. The Omanis clearly really enjoy welcoming people to their country and it shows in everything they do.
Nothing is too much trouble and everything is done with a smile.
This time we explored a bit more of the resort. We went on the Lazy River and walked round Al Waha and Al Bandar. Both are great but as a middle aged couple it was nice to return to the adults only Al Husn - particularly pool area as there's no kids running round or splashing.
The coolers with drinks and sprays were once again welcome, and as it was quieter than when we came in May, we never had any trouble getting good loungers where we wanted them.
One thing to note, although in no way a fault of the hotel. When we had a 'beach day' I was swimming and had a near miss with what turned out to be a nasty jellyfish- a blue/ black one which are more poisonous apparently. The sea was immediately evacuated, but it's worth being aware they are around and are very nasty. The lifeguard acted quickly and seemed to know his stuff, which was reassuring.
We had a spa treatment this time.
I've had many but this was the best experience I've had spa wise.
From the moment you enter, to the free use of the water area before treatment - steam room, bubble pool, ice shower and very well appointed shower and relaxing area- to the massage itself, it feels and is wonderful. The massage was the most relaxing, rebalancing and reenergising I've ever had, with Kitty ever solicitous that I was comfortable and happy. Came out on a cloud and still feel the benefits a week later. The spa is pricey but so worth it.
The breakfasts were spot on again. Plentiful, varied and our cooked breakfasts were perfect. The same can be said of the afternoon teas and canapés at 6pm.
We ate a couple of times in the Piano Lounge. It serves light bites and often they were enough after breakfast, afternoon tea and canapés. The choices of bruschetta were excellent and good value.
We also ate at Capri Court, the Italian restaurant. Food again was lovely, service very good and location overlooking the beach was excellent. Was pricey for what we had though.
Another good outlet I'd recommend is the beach restaurant Mahhara at the Al Husn. We had chicken Caesar salad and it was excellent.
In summary, I cannot fault this hotel. It oozes 5 star quality but has a lightness about it that some top hotels lack- not stuffy or over formal, just right.
We've booked to come back again next May. We looked at others in the Shangri La chain but decided that as we travel several times a year, we'd rather enjoy more of this great place than try another that may be a disappointment.
It feels like our very own Shangri La.
