We dropped in for a midweek lunch.Chose off the specials board and very pleased with our choices I.e. Rib eye steak with sauté potatoes, roasted Mediterranean vegetables and salad with a lovely sauce served separately in a sauce boat and English mustard in a small ramekin, the other choice was Pan fried turbot with new potatoes, carrots, leeks and green beans there was also a lovely sauce with the fish.We were really too full to have a dessert but couldn't resist so had the chocolate fudge cake and ice cream which came well presented and not too large a portion. The coffee was good as well. The staff were very attentive although we did have to wait a while before somebody came to the till for us to pay our bill. An experience we will repeat as it is so convenient for us to travel to.We wish the new crew good luck please don't alter too much.

Not having eaten here for a year or so, the unchanged drab decor and furnishings prepared us for an eating experience of a similar calibre. However, how wrong can you be? The meal was of an excellent quality, plenty of it and very reasonably priced. As well as that, because we were having lunch midweek and being over 55, we qualified for a 20% discount on the pub classic meals that we chose.
We understand that the interior is due to be overhauled over the coming months and this should certainly have a beneficial effect on the ambience of the place.
We will definitely blow their trumpet for them and look forward to returning in the near future.

Great time at the Saddlers Arms last night. We paid £10 each for booked tickets as opposed to £15 on the night at the door. Everything exceeded our expectations.
We were shown to our reserved table and given our tickets for the buffett and some party poppers for midnight. The buffett food was superb ranging from smoked salmon and prawns to curry and chilli con carne and everything in between - it truly was an 'around the world buffett'. There were no restrictions as to how many times you could return to replenish your plate. A large selection of cheese and biscuits were available for those who felt the need for more food. We were entertained throughout by a band called DixieGrass who played a wide range of old and new standards without being intrusive. About 20 minuted before midnight we were offered a glass of either white or pink 'bubbly' to toast in the New Year. At midnight we toasted in the New Year let off our party poppers and joined hands and sang Old Lang Syne. Then it was time to don our coats and head for the garden to watch the firework display. This lasted for at least 5 minutes and certainly exceeded all our expectations in the quality of the fireworks and the professional expertise of the display - absolutely superb.
Well done to Chantelle and Tim for an absolutely fabulous night. You certainly have the ethos to put the Saddlers back on the map. We are all rooting for you and sincerely wish you all the luck in the world.
HAPPY NEW YEAR let 2016 be the year the Saddlers returns for ever. We will be supporting you - you are our 'local'.

We visited for the first time since its been under new ownership. Wow, what a vast improvement.
We opted for the carvery option. Good choice as the food was great, tender tasty meat and lovely vegetables.

I guess the decor is going to tidied up once the madness of Christmas and new year have passed.

It must be a huge undertaking to take on a business that's had such a chequered past for so many years and try to turn it around. I'm really pleased to say that the new owners are succeeding and we wish them very we.

We look forward to going back soon.
