We wanted to get away for a few days after our wedding and we love the New Buffalo / Union Pier area. We had heard about the Inn at Union Pier from a friend of ours and decided to book our stay. From the moment I called to inquire & make our reservation, Mary Anne was extremely helpful! She took the time to talk about the different rooms available and helped us to select the one that would be best for us. Upon arrival, the staff showed us around and made us feel right at home. They knew we were honeymooning and left a nice bottle of champagne and fresh cookies in our room to welcome us.

The Inn provided information on local points of interest and activities. They even had menus from local restaurants available as well. Great location and situated within 10 minutes walking distance from the beach.

From the fresh baked cookies to the evening popcorn & cocktail hour, historic fireplaces, and friendly staff... We had an amazing stay and would definitely come back!!

Dear Mr. & Mrs.

So nice of you to write a fabulous review about your stay with us. You will definitely want to come back during the fall in October or winter or spring to use the Swedish fireplaces. In October the weather is usually beautiful and walking on the beach is so quiet when everyone is gone. Weekends are still pretty busy until the end of October. They are predicting an early fall this year so leaves may be turning in September and gone by Halloween. Enjoy the rest of your summer and come see us soon.

Best wishes,

Mary Ann

Great place to stay, breakfast was very good! The owners were very friendly and even showed us around a little. Hope to go back sometime. The room was very nice, a very nice bed. I have trouble sleeping but not here, I slept all night.

Room Tip: very close to beach, you can walk there in about 5 minutes.

Hi Denny,

Great to hear you had a good night sleep. So many people have trouble sleeping when they go away, but most people like our new mattresses. I think a lot of time they are so tired from all the fresh air, cookies, great staff, and breakfast that they go right to bed before 11:00PM. Sometimes they don't come down to breakfast because it's so comfortable and then grab a cookie or two and go out for lunch somewhere. Thanks for writing your review and telling others about your stay at the Inn. It's the best kind of advertising. If you ever want to come back in November,December, or January give me a call and I'll give you 2 nights for the price of one night in the Great House or Pier House depending if the Great House has rooms or not. The fireplaces are really nice during the winter months.Have a great rest of the summer now that it's finally here. :)

Warm regards,

Mary Ann

My husband and I try to do a B & B every year over our birthdays which are 5 days apart. We stayed in this cozy Inn and had a wonderful time. Great people work there. Very friendly and informative. Short walk to Lake Michigan and close to antique shops, Outlet mall in Michigan City, Wineries and Casinos. A lot of fun for sure

Dear MarWy017,

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at the Inn to celebrate your birthdays and hope you will return again soon. Many people in the summer stay a whole week and find plenty to do and eat out at the best restaurants in Southwest Michigan for dinner. They usually skip lunch because they are still full from our full breakfast and snack on homemade oatmeal cookies and wine and popcorn until dinner. Thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay with us and will tell others.

Have a Great Summer!

Best,

Mary Ann

The Inn was wonderful. The decor inside was beautiful, clean. We stayed in the Sandpiper room, it was lovely, plenty of room, lots of windows. My husband said the the fireplace was "sweet ", heated up super fast. We enjoyed the
delicious breakfasts and the wine in the evening. The yummy cookies in the afternoon were a real treat. The casino , Timothy's and Journeymen distilley are a quick ride from the Inn. We also discovered some nice trails nearby. We enjoyed walking the beach each morning. The staff were perfect, they made us feel at home. Mary Ann and Bill were very knowledgeable of the Inn and the area.

Hi Colette,

It was so nice talking and getting to know you and your husband while you stayed at the Inn. Everyone loves the Sandpiper room with all the windows and the fireplace at the end of the bed. One woman calls it the "Fluffy white cloud" room because of the white puffy bedspread with a blue accent wall. So glad you enjoyed your stay with us and we were able to make you feel right at home. Most people hate to leave. hope to see you again in the summer or next fall. Thank you for taking the time to tell others about the Inn at Union Pier.

Warm regards,

Mary Ann

Visited the Inn during a last minute freakishly warm Feb. mid-week wine tour and birthday celebration. Chose the Inn at Union Pier quite honestly because they answered the phone. Other BnBs are open in off season but unmanned. Friendly, informative response got us in the door, and we will be back.
Turns out we were only tenants. But, we still were served popcorn and wine in the lovely sitting room, they started us our private fire in the fireplace for our breakfast the next morning. Special gluten free meal prepared for me.
Inn is located in in wooded neighborhood just steps from a beach access. We had short walk to enjoy a Lake Michigan sunset, and in our case ice features on the beach. Wine and distillery tours are just minutes away'
Room was spacious, bathrooms clean, bedding comfortable. Our room had a working Swedish fireplace which we enjoyed.

Dear CapBeachVilla,

We're so glad you found the Inn at Union Pier and enjoyed your stay even though you were the only ones. Most people pay a lot of money to have a whole place to themselves. Hopefully you will come back in the summer or fall and get to meet people during the wine and popcorn hour. It's quite different in July August, and September but still relaxing and quiet. Pretty soon we'll be getting the outdoor furniture and bikes out for the season. Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your stay at the Inn. Hope to see you real soon!

Warm regards,

Mary Ann
