My husband and I stayed two nights at the inn and it was lovely. They had a lot of nice amenities that I haven’t seen at other bed and breakfasts. Even though we were there in February, it was unseasonably warm, so we were able to walk on the beach which was beautiful and very clean and well kept. We stayed in the Larkspur room and were looking forward to lighting our kakelugn (the fireplace) but didn’t need to because the weather was so warm. We actually ended up opening our windows and turning on the fan because it got so warm. The hot tub was nice. They keep it really hot, so we only stayed in for about a half hour, but that was plenty on a cool night.
We had a package through LivingSocial which included a whiskey tour and tasting at the Journeyman Distillery which we would definitely recommend. We stayed for lunch afterwards. The popcorn and wine tastings at the inn every night were fun. They also have coffee/tea and cookies out throughout the day for snacking.
The inn is close enough to Chicago (about 90 minutes away) that we were able to drive into the city for the evening to see “Hamilton” (we won tickets in the lottery, so it was definitely worth the tolls). All in all, a wonderful trip.More
