The food was awesome with tons of flavor and fearly reasonable in price. I've eaten here numerous of times and never been disappointed. I always order extra tamales to go. Authentic and nice size.

It's a hidden gem but the negative is it's a small place with limited seating and during lunch, there is no actual waitstaff. Getting your chips, salsa and drinks refilled is kind of tough and the two guys that work during lunch really isn't very customer oriented. Other then that, the food is what keeps me coming back plus they serve alcohol.

I had heard good things about this small, family owned restaurant.
I wanted it to be great. It was not. It is nice that they have beer, wine and mixed drinks. We each started with a margarita, which were $6 each. Glasses were rather small, similar to old champagne glasses but with thicker glass, containing perhaps half of a normal mixed drink glass in volume. I considered those a poor value.

We tried to have a number of dishes, ordering an enchiladas dinner ($10), a wet burrito dinner ($12), a side guacamole ($3) and a couple ala cart Tamales ($3 each).

The guacamole was perfect. Smooth, with some chunks of avocado in there too. Seasoned just right.

My enchiladas dinner was, well, small. The three enchiladas were smaller than a dime in width but were basically flat with very little filling, and only about 4-1/2" long (compare them against the size of the fork in my picture). Beans and rice took most of the plate, while the enchilada mostly hid under some red sauce.

The wet burrito was much bigger but stood alone on the plate. We were surprised that for $12 they did not put rice and beans on the plate too. Nope said the waiter, they would bring those but it would cost $4 more. II shared mine with her instead)

The tamales had a overly thick cornmeal wrap around a very small, kinda sketchy tasting filling. They were very dry and lacked a good favor, which is disappointing because my girlfriend really loves tamales.

There are two other local favorites Mexican places of ours: Mexican Village on Van Dyke / 22 Mile Road and Azteca on Long Lake west of Rochester Road. Meals there are lower cost but with superior quality and quantity. They also do not skimp on the rice and beans. This was a disappointing dinner for two that cost $50. It was, in my opinion, worth less than half that.

We were in town for the evening, and came here because of the reviews. As other reviews stated, the guacamole was amazing. Food however, left something to be desired. Beans were close to liquid. Tamale masa was incredibly dry. Kid's nachos had a cheese sauce instead of melted. For a $55 family meal, we were all disappointed.
