The rooms are big. Sleeping area was a separate room from living room area. Small fridge, micro, coffee make and sink in living room area. Bathroom is quite small, the door nearly hits the toilet when it open, not much floor space. Shower was in good condition, shower head is tiny. Nothing really deluxe about the room other than size and that there were 2 flat screen tvs. Rooms were in good condition, bed was good. Breakfast is at the bistro in the morning, but it is a standard Hampton style free breakfast (hot items, nothing special, but nice selection). Did not get to the fitness room to see it, would really like an indoor pool for the price point, especially when 3/4 of the months in Michigan, the beaches are not a factor.

Room tip: Lakeviews are nicer but I was told that was a $40 to $50 upgrade, ouch.

A nice enough place, but oddly off for a place with this high of a price point. $200 a night with plastic cups in the bathroom and small paper/foam coffee cups that are too small for the Keurig in the room. Room was 55 degrees when we checked in--presumably they hadn't bothered to turn on the heat ahead of time. Since we went out for awhile afterward, it was ok by the time we got back, but had I had to stay in the room right away, it would have been extremely uncomfortable. The extra towels are nice, but the $5 coupon for the Bistro if you tell them to not do housekeeping for a multi-night stay seems pretty lame. It's promoted as "saving our resources" but I don't see how cleaning a bathroom is wasting many resources--and plastic over glass wastes a lot more resources (i.e., petroleum products to make plastic) than just washing the dishes would. Perhaps they don't want to/can't hire enough cleaners? Breakfast at the Bistro was a Hampton-Inn buffet level experience which was a major disappointment, since I was expected the restaurant to be open as no notice was given otherwise. And because the dinner there the night before was so good, I was really looking forward to a real breakfast, not tired dried-out cheesy eggs, listless flavorless sausage, plastic cups for orange juice and only soup spoons, not teaspoons, for yogurt and cereal. Cutting corners just made the whole visit feel off--a little bit more care with the finer points, and this would be a really nice place to stay. Oh, and the $1.75 charge for the room safe they added to the bill?? You must be kidding me! What a nickel-and-dime technique--which they removed at the front desk. Management needs a new playbook if they want to succeed as a fairly serious hotel, which the price certainly indicates that they want to do, and which the location would allow them to do.

Room tip: "City view" is of the parking lot. Park view is of the beach and Lake Michigan.

We love St. Joe Michigan and we were stopping overnight late Friday before heading for Chicago. We had seen the Boulevard on other trips, but this was our first stay. We arrived after 9 pm and were warmly greeted by the front desk clerk. Our room was upgraded to a lovely suite which was huge and comfortable! The breakfast included in our stay had ample variety and was delicious. Being right across from the lovely beach and park, I enjoyed an early morning run as well! The staff, location and hospitality were wonderful!

Room tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor with a view of the beach/park

Stayed at the Boulavrd and was impressed with the staff, very friendly and professional. The Bistro was a bit pricey and had a limited selection, but the food was prepared and presented very well.

Now getting down to the important stuff... The mattress and pillows were so comfortable and the water pressure was great in the shower. The rooms are all suites, so plenty of room. Silver Beach is just accross the street and the shops are just out the back door. Excellent get a way.
