We really enjoyed our week in Vis: the general decor in the house, the pool and air conditioning were all great, and the view was fantastic! The island itself is a joy.
However, we were very disappointed with a few unresolved issues at the property, even though Laura, the property manager, tried her best to help us whilst were were staying in the villa:
•As it was the end of the season, there were a number of maintenance issues: broken curtain rail; broken fridge drawers; missing door frame; broken shower handle; loose front door lock;
•Only one parasol due to a previous guest allowing the second one to blow away;
•No dish cloths, tea towels or oven gloves;
•Only two sunbeds in a four person property.
The above issues were minor inconveniences, although at the rental price, we would not have expected them, when compared to comparatively priced European properties that we have stayed in before. We also appreciate that this is a remote island, and replacement goods and maintenance may be difficult to source quickly.
However, the incessant smell of drains throughout our stay was unacceptable and did spoil our stay to some extent. We were unable to use one of the bathrooms, and woke up each day to a disgusting sewerage smell each morning. We had to pour water and disinfectant into the drains twice a day to minimise the smell.
If this particular issue were resolved, we would have no hesitation in recommending this villa on a beautiful island.
