Rooms around a central garden with water feature. Fairly basic but comfortable. Good breakfast cooked fresh for everyone. Central location, but still managed to get confused with layout around Cathedral to return to hotel! Lovely square, but be careful of the homeless. An interesting guided tour including the chocolate factory.

Great location close to the square. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was good and the staff was very helpful! We stayed with a group of 18 for a mission trip. We will definitely stay again next time we visit Leon
We picked this hotel for our stay in Leon as it was centrally located and indeed from here you can easily walk towards the Cathedral and the central park as well as wonder on the streets of central Leon.
The room we had was spacious and clean. Not the newest furniture however good for an overnight stay. The breakfast was good and more than enough. You order from their menu and you can get a very nice omelette with orange juice and coffee which is more than enough to start your day.
We were able to leave our luggage after we checked out at 12 to wonder a bit around the city and we did not have any issues with the payment (can pay by card).
All in all a very good option for Leon, we were checking more expensive hotels and to be honest they didn't offer more or were better than Hotel Austria.

Good location in Leon, steps to the Parque Central and Leon Cathedral. Staff and service were friendly and very helpful, both at front desk and in the restaurant. Front desk gave us suggestions where to get a typical Nicaraguan meal and helped arrange our Telica Sun Set tour. Be sure to check out La Cucaracha for some authentic Nicaraguan fare.
The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was included and secure/gated parking was free!
If you are to book Hotel Austria, my only recommendation would be to make sure that you request a room not facing the main street as it is quite noisy first thing in the morning.

I really enjoyed this place. From the moment I pulled up in the car to the moment I left I was treated very well, nothing was a problem. Four of us shared a family room and it was more than ample. The beds were comfortable, room was very clean, as was the whole hotel and gardens, and very well equipped. Breakfast was a delight - tasty and healthy and served with professionalism. The location was fantastic, a few steps from the main square and cathedral and other attractions. My group stayed just two nights during the Semana Santa festivities - I wish it had been longer. Well worth considering for your visit.

We spent 4 nights here during Semana Santa. For Leon a 5 as other nicer hotels like Convento are much more pricey. $50 options can be pretty mediocre.The hotel, rooms and grounds are all immaculate. Service is very consistent and friendly. Comfortable beds. Not chic, nor classic, but a pleasant and comfortable hotel. Breakfast options are all very good. Hotel can connect you with dependable tours and taxis. Friendly and helpful owner is on sight. In Nicaragua this is important.
