Everything inside the room needs to be replaced, the bed was not comfortable at all, the air conditioning system is a puzzle (but eventually it works), the safety box is an antique, not sure if it really works.
Honestly I would stay again because the staff is very friendly and outside the room it is a beautiful colonial house with a nice and relaxing garden.

Taking safety measures
Beautiful place with stunning views. Great service and wonderful, yummy breakfast. Excellent location, close to everything. Would certainly stay here again! Rooms were clean, modern and very cozy. Staff were great with great Wifi service.
It was not busy while I was there due to protests in Nicaragua. The staff were very welcoming, helpful, protective, and supportive. The home cooked breakfast was delicious. The owners checked in on me to make sure I felt safe with current conditions beyond their control. I would definitely stay there again. I just want to thank them for making me feel safe!
We were originally going to cancel our trip to Leon due to the government protests in Nicaragua, so glad we didn't as Hotel Real was a beautiful charming casa. The room is clean, good hot water pressure, fast WiFi, what touched us the most was that normally breakfast is 7 to 9, but when came back from a midnight hike at 9.30am, the reception and the kitchen staff was able to make us breakfast despite the fact the breakfast is over! Fresh eggs and Nicaraguan breakfast. Super happy with our stay. Good AC too!
A well run, small hotel surrounding a cool and relaxing garden minutes from the bustling hub of Leon. Rooms were simple but clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were a little basic but again clean and everything worked. Breakfast was good, just a shame they didn’t serve food in the evening, however, plenty of local restaurants around the Cathedral which is minutes away on foot.
It was my first time to Leon, I did not know what to expect. When we pulled up to the hotel and they had parking out front I sighed a small little mini sigh. Then we walked inside. They were waiting for us. They really were expecting us. Our room was ready and everything was in order. Even the slight hiccup of a forgotten passport was glossed over with the grace of a well trained CS agent.
The room was a little nicer then expected for this nexk of the woods in this price range. it even included running hot water and AC. A tv was in the room, but who has time for television when you can sit outside in the beautiful patio and read the latest news or your favorite book.
And the breakfast was spot on as well. Nothing to right homw about, but hearty and tasty enough to get your day started. It included fresh fruit that were different everyday. The fresh squeezed juices a reminder that you are in the tropics where all the wonderful things on earth grow, without much effort.
I would recommend this hotel for those who want to stay somewhere clean and friendly but not too westernized. You are around the corner from all the touristy traps, but just far enough away that you can really hear and feel the buzz of the city on saturday mornings.
Also, be sure to check out the terrace. The view is spectacular. Especially the sunrise!
