We didn’t know what to expect when visiting Tansen but we were delighted to find it to be a hidden gem in Nepal. The owners of the homestay are brilliant and incredibly friendly, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The food was excellent and the owner Man Moran and his GETUP tourist office were invaluable, helping us to find our way both around town and the countryside. To top it off the view from the roof of the homestay is amazing, particularly at sunset.

We highly recommend City View Homestay and Tansen, and hope to visit again in the future.

If you are in the lovely town of Tansen then this is the place you want to stay. The rooms at the city guest house are basic, very clean and cheap. The family is very nice and hospitable, the daughter made us the most delicious tea and Mr Man Mohan gave us lots of information about the area. I highly recommend the city guest house.

I stayed to nights during off season right after the monsoon and had a very good time. ManMohan and his lovely family run a nice and cozy budget homestay with simple and big rooms.

As ManMohan also runs the tourist information office he provided me with maps and loads of info about the town and the beautiful treks in the area.

Try the delicious breakfast with omelette, pancake, banana and tea!

We stayed at city view homestay for 5 nights in September. Our stay was in one word amazing. Mohan and his family are among the nicest, most welcoming people we have met during our travels. First of all, Mohan is a very intelligent and knowledgeable man who does not only know a lot about Tansen (and Nepal in general) but also about the rest of the world. It was a pleasure to talk to him and his daughter about topics regarding everyday life but also many other topics. When one of us got ill during the stay, they did everything within their power to help out and take care of us, which was incredibly nice of them. Especially the delicious tea (made by the daughter) made us feel right at home. Then the house, located higher up the hill, provided a great view over the city centre and the surrounding hills and valley. Our room was located on the top floor of the house and had a private bathroom and a large roof terrace, which made our stay even more comfortable. In conclusion, we would strongly recommend anybody visiting Tansen to stay at this homestay. You will not regret it!
