Our family traveled to Colonial Michilimackinac on July 4th and had a wonderful time! The staff and re-enactors did a terrific job of engaging everyone in the history of the site with humor, knowledge, and general good spirits. Everyone in our family from my husband (age 45) to our youngest daughter (age 4) found something to enjoy about our time. We all especially enjoyed the the irony of visiting a British fort on July 4th... it was fantastic! We enjoyed the rest of Mackinaw City during the evening while we waited for the fireworks... seriously one of the best displays in the country!

We had a good time viewing the Fort and surrounding buildings. Pleased with the effort put forth by the State and all others to make this available to the public.

Good display of colonial activities...cannon shooting into the lake and good reproductions of that era.

We went with 5 young children and they were all thoroughly entertained the entire time. There is a Children's Day tour and takes you through to experience the way children lived during the height of the fort's use. It was a great tour. The photos of our kids stacking wood and cooling bread roll s are priceless.
The history is all presented in an interesting manner and I think we could all envision life as it once was there. Also there is a small snack bar for lunch in a pinch - good hotdogs. And a playground to really exercise your kids before gettign back into the car.
