Great homemade meals - breakfast & dinner included in price.
Lake Cora - very clean, busy at times with jet skis, power boats, pontoon boats (we were there over July 4th). It calmed down considerably after the holiday. Staff attentive and friendly. We stayed in the Beach House. Clean and right on the water and beach area. If you want privacy, pick a cabin further up the hill, but very convenient for people who want beach time and the water right outside their window!
BUT... everyone in our family reunion was taken aback by the additional 18% owed on the balance at time of check-in. We scrambled to come up with $356 dollars more (they don't take credit cards). Others in our party owed up to $670 MORE depending on number in your party. The additional amount included taxes, gratuity, and the ubiquitous "fees". Why or why can't quoted rates be just that? Also, if you have guests staying off site and they come for the day, there is a fee that can add up quite quickly.
All in all, a family friendly historic "lodge" (100 years old) with interesting antiques and framed newspaper clippings detailing the history of the place. Owners Bob and Susan always on site and super nice! They work 7 days a week. Patriotic 4th of July celebrations and decorations ~ appreciated.More
