This was my favorite restaurant when I was a student at MSU in the 1970s. At that time they had the best pizza and best ribs in the state.
Going back in 2018, wondered how things had changed. Prices higher naturally. Food not quite as good as I remember it.
Still good though.
Have to say, your opinion of this place will totally depend on what you order. Pizza, ribs, sandwiches and soup still great.
Other things like batter fried fish pretty mediocre.
Good value for the money.

Some people have another local restaurant in mind when they talk about home made Italian restaurants in Lansing. Falsetta's beats it! Hands down, no argument. Just look at the menu and see the prices. I recently had lunch here with eight co-workers. All of them have different tastes, budgets, and expectations. The service was fast and really friendly. The server took time to explain the lunch menu vs. full menu vs. econ menu and lunch buffet. The eggplant Parmesan is excellent, and their marinara sauce is the best! My friend said the Alfredo is better than OG . The value can't be beat and the menu has options for everyone.

Older, local place. Can’t wait to go back and try other items. Mon - Thur they have a big selection for f $8.99 dinner specials. Ordered extra cheese on our pizza and it was an insane amount of cheese. Not out of the park pizza but very good. The place was mobbed at 5:45pm on a weekday so that tells you about the crowd and following.

Stumbled onto a nice family owned place. Will definitely be back. Lunch was fabulous. The potato soup was amazing. The teriyaki chicken was very tender. The kids devoured the chicken nuggets. We didn't order a pizza, but will be back to try it. It looked really yummy, too. Won't break the bank either when taking the family out for lunch.

My wife and I love family owned restaurants and those that are not part of a chain. Falsetta's fits the bill. It was easy to find and had plenty of free parking. The decor is shabby-chique 1970s, clean and not too noisy. Sadly they have TVs in the corners of the dining room. The menu has just about all the cliches and does not appear to have any specials that are opportunities for the chef to shine. The portions are huge. The Caesar salad was fresh and generous but it would have been nice to have something other than bottled dressing. My wife's angel hair pasta and meatballs looked OK and she said tasted good. My veal Parmesan was probably frozen - it was kind of chewy and stringy. Might not have even been veal. We had a bottle of wine (the most expensive wine was only $29). We didn't see anything fun or interesting on the dessert menu. Our server was attentive and tries to fix mistake made in the kitchen with one of the entrees.
