The best thing about Potter's park is the size and price. I have been coming here for 40 years. I loved it as a kid when they had half the exhibits, and I still love taking my 8 year old. I like it because it is small enough to see everything in an hour and a half, but big enough to spend up to 3 hours if you take your time and have a picnic. To save money, bring lunch and eat in the picnic area before you enter or after you are finished in the park. The food there is more expensive. Go on the weekend to have access to more areas and activities. Spring is great, because you get to see baby animals. Summer is great, everything is out. Fall is nice too, because everything is beautiful in the fall. Winter is good for short trips and if your kids have cabin fever. There are indoor exhibits. If you have never been, it's definitely worth the first trip. Local folks go at least once a year or more while kids are young, not a bad place for a first date though.

Wonderful place to spend time with your family especially young children. Special events during holidays especially Halloween decorations and Christmas lighting are great attractions.

This was a great family outing! The zoo doesn't have as many exhibits as the zoo in Toledo, Ohio or Chicago, Illinois. But, if you are looking for an intimate experience, Potter Park Zoo is the place to visit.

I was here once before a number of years back, but we had some time to kill so we came through to see if anything had changed. The zoo was much smaller than I remember. I believe it was $5 for parking, and then $11.00 each for two adults. For the size of the zoo and the costs, I would say it's on the high side IMHO. However, they do have some nice animal selections and decent food options available. It is still a nice park to get your steps in, which is ultimately what we were looking for. As a couple with no kids, we got through it in 1-1.5 hours with eating.
