Looking for quiet spaces, places to get away, just love books and ideas, looking for family or problem solving, learning something new, finding something old, listen to music, meet- up with friends? No better place than the Flint Public Library.
The Flint Public Library is a truly outstanding library with a wide range of materials in circulation - books, dvd's, movies, etc. There are computers for use by the public, and the staff is very helpful for people who need some extra help with them. They have an excellent reference department, and all of the staff go out of their way to be helpful. They also have a great collection of travel-related books and other publications.
They have multiple floors, and a separate children's section. The north side of the building is all windows so there is plenty of light to read by.
This is a very nice, large library with amazing art on view. When I visited there was a wonderful El Anatsui hanging in the public reading room. And a small exhibition that included Elizabeth Catlett upstairs. Flint is lucky to have such a wonderful library!
I have been going to the library all my life! It is a huge library with several resources! They have books, magazines , movies and music that they allow you to check out! They also have a very large children's area! This is the largest library I've ever been too! They usually have artwork on display as well! My whole family could spend the day here!
My grandchildren love the special events! I always check online before they visit and reserve space at several locations! I have never been disappointed. The staff is always great and the events are well planned.
