We stayed last night. It was perfect for us. My girls loved the pool! We attended a concert at Interlochen and this was the perfect place to stay after the concert. We ate in the small on site restaurant. The staff was so nice and helpful! Would highly recommend a stay with these lovely people. Thanks for a great night and food.

We came here for a weekend trip for 2 days of skiing and snowboarding. We had dinner and drinks in the restaurant. Not very busy but it was nice to sit with some warm food after a cold day. They have a special list of drinks from a local brewery I think? It was pretty good! While my husband was snowboarding one of his screws came out and we were able to stop by the repair shop and get it fixed in like 10 minutes (very simple fix) Everyone was super nice. The rooms are just basic but you are only there to sleep .

Can't beat $99 weekends season pass! Very friendly family environment. Spacious cafeteria with numerous outlets to plug in crockpots if you're looking to save money by bringing your own food. Only 2.5 to 3 hr drive from Detroit metropolitan area.

Chief05302014: Thanks for complimenting our value. There is a reason we are the #1 ski value in Michigan, especially when it comes to season passes and crock pots!

To be clear! I do like and enjoy the ski area, I’m not a big skier, so Caberfae gives me enough challenge! HOTEL. Well.

Hotel - I saw the they made some improvement, stayed in room 20, great view from mountain maybe the best view, my problem was night time to sleep! The light on the deck stayed on all night, it was bright as day all night long! I understand that looks nice, but they could shut off maybe by midnight! Carpet on hotel was very dirty! Bad was ok!

Towels- I’m 5.6 not tall at wall, and towels looked like hand towel very small, image a tall person they probably would think is a wash cloth!

Restaurant - Very very friendly people, diner was really good, but breakfast was average of a free breakfast at any days inn, not good for a paid breakfast, and the service on the morning was bad, coffee you could see through the glass!

I understand it is a old hotel, but not excuses for not having some changes! Actually it is a very nice looking place. Lots of potentials!

Aldmar F: Thank you for skiing and staying with us and thank you for the feedback. You have a lot of valid points. Please note that we rebuilt the balconies and added some exposed cedar trusses along with roof line with lighting. This lighting did make the rooms brighter at night, and since your stay, we have installed some additional shades and window tinting which has resolved the issue. The carpet in the hallways is set to be replaced this coming April. Hope you can try us again in the future. Thanks!

Caberfae is in a beautiful location in the Manistee National Forest and the skiing, lodging & restaurants / bars are all very nice with a rustic charm at very reasonable prices. In addition the entire staff from the lift operators to the hotel & restaurant personnel are all extremely friendly. The owners are maintaining the property very well & continue to make improvements. They obviously have a great deal of pride in their ownership & clearly enjoy what they are doing. I hope they will keep up the great work for many years to come.
