“Fantastic Home with every Ammenity You Could Want!”
Reviewed 9 September 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We loved Green Gates' perfect location- Quiet, Historic and Comfortable on the Cape's North Shore. This large and accommodating home was excellently suited for our family gathering of 10 people. (When we were looking for rentals for our vacation and saw Green Gates, that was it - we wanted to stay there!) We were not disappointed. More than enough room for everybody. The two grandkids loved exploring all the rooms and hiding places. The complete amenities included an amply stocked kitchen- more than enough dishes, silverware, cookware, the large family dining table were great for our group. All air-conditioned bedrooms kept us comfortable each night, plenty of hot water, many comfortable areas for relaxing, visiting. Living room, reading areas, TV, Wi-Fi- Dan and Lavinia have thought of it all. Plenty of bicycles, beach towels, outdoor games and Bar-B-Que, we enjoyed everything. The Guest Guidebook written and prepared by Dan was an amazing resource for finding dozens of local attractions - beaches, dining, historic places that we would not have known about on our own. We would highly recommend Green Gates, and while there, we discussed when we might be able to visit again.

“Wonderful home, location, and weather!”

Yesterday we returned from a weeks' stay at this gem of a home. There were eight adults and one child and we loved all of the comfortably appointed rooms, the fully stocked large kitchen, the wonderful huge dining room table, the patio with table/chairs and umbrella, the lawn games and the many bedrooms! Having a washer and dryer was a huge plus! We were able to squeeze in four cars in the driveway but it was tricky. There is street parking across the street for extra cars. My 22-year-old daughter and I took advantage of the free yoga class on Wednesday morning in the grassy courtyard within walking distance! We took long walks down Church street and ogled and marveled at the beautiful homes nestled among the hydrangea bushes! No need to bring beach chairs, towels, blankets, umbrellas ... they have it all! Enjoy!!

“Perfect Rental Home, Ideal Location!”

This is the ideal location to take in the breathtaking beauty of the Cape, and Green Gates itself generously accommodated our party of 10. The rental was so comfortable and stylishly equipped that we could easily have spent most of our time in the house and immediate grounds! Green Gates comprises the perfect balance of classic Victorian style, decor and comfort with high end appliances such as washer, drier and fridge, making the necessary domestic elements of the holiday as smooth and straightforward as one could hope for. The owners have achieved this whilst avoiding the aesthetic clash common in fully functional period properties. The interesting objects strewn naturally about the property and the literary themed bedrooms continually enhanced the experience as we absorbed them throughout our stay. We took many of the recommendations from the Green Gates booklet, all of which contributed to a hugely enjoyable week. The beaches, restaurants (where the fish and seafood equals, indeed perhaps surpasses the best I've had anywhere) were ideal. Hyannis is a pretty local port town, as mainstream as it gets with shops and a choice of restaurants, and Province Town and its surrounding natural beauty at the tip of the Cape was well worth the scenic hour and a half drive. The owners were in close enough proximity to be quickly available to answer any questions and expand on recommendations with their wealth of local knowledge and were extremely kind and welcoming yet completely non-intrusive. I cannot recommend this holiday rental and location highly enough. We will be returning! Thank you Dan P and family!

“Green Gates is Perfect!”
Reviewed 28 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

If you want to have a relaxing vacation on the Cape, I can’t imagine anything better than Green Gates. We spent an amazing week there with four other couples. There was room to spare and the location off 6A was the perfect balance of convenience and peacefulness. The very spacious home is charming, unbelievable equipped, and impeccably maintained. It’s obvious that the owners take great pride in this historic estate and have planned carefully to ensure that guests have a fabulous stay. We’ll be back!

“Beautifully Renovated Old Captain's House”
Reviewed 18 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

I want to start by saying I was surprised that this beautiful home was still available when I found the time to book our vacation. The home was perfect for our entire family (12 of us all together). The kitchen was large, had old charm with high end appliances. The quaint dining room was perfect for us to eat dinner together, laugh, and create special memories. There were rooms everywhere with big comfy couches and chairs, books, games, you name it these owners had it. I felt at home as soon as I walked through the door!. They even had a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us on the kitchen table. The renovation of the home took nothing away from the old charm and character of the home. We will definitely come back to this home when we return to the Cape!

Liked best: I loved the high end appliances mixed with the old charm of the home.
Liked least: The outside patio area...the area was to small for the amount of people the house holds and the lack of outside lighting.
