We choose the Old Yarmouth Inn due to reveiws, walking distance from where we were staying (The Village Inn, also a 5 star place) and recommended by the owner. I had the stuffed quahog as an app and the sole piccata for dinner. Both were outstanding! Girlfriend had the half chicken which was so moist and perfectly seasoned. So many great choices on the menu and just from looking at what others were eating, I plan on going back and trying more.

We visited the cape a year ago and stayed at the Inn right next door to this restaurant. This restaurant was very busy and we could not get in.
This year we made a reservation before we even got to the cape. After reading all of the reviews we could not wait to go there and eat. When we were barely sitting down the waitress came over and said oh you're looking at the drink menu I will come back. She came back a few minutes later and we placed our order. She then came over to apologize that a bunch of people were seated at the same time and the bar was backed up. We didn't have a problem with that as we looked at the menu to see what we would like to order for our meal. We placed our order for appetizer and our meal when she delivered the drinks to us. We received our appetizers in a timely matter and they were good. I had the shrimp cocktail my boyfriend had the French onion soup. When the waitress and the hostess brought our food to us they handed us the wrong plate. We had no idea and we're just enjoying our meal when a couple at the table next to us asked their waiter what my boyfriend was eating. The waiter then said short ribs and I said no I have short ribs, then he explained we each had what the other ordered. We then switched plates and the waitress came by and laughed thinking that we we're sharing our food which we only had taken a few bites out of. That being said we didn't really have a problem with that. What we did have a problem with was the waitress never came back to ask us how our food was. Even after we both had the right order. After we were asked if we wanted dessert, we declined, we paid the bill and left. As we were walking out the door our waitress was the only person in the Hostess area. She didn't say goodbye, have a good night or anything. Her name was Ann Marie. Overall the food was okay the prices were high and I cannot believe all of the high ratings this place receives. Bottom line it was not worth the wait.

Picked this restaurant based on location and reviews and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent, even our fussy 15 year old daughter loved her dinner, and the cocktails were great too. Must also comment on the wonderful staff who made us feel so welcome and really made our evening. We will definitely be returning.

this is a family restaurant in an old inn. we stayed locally for two nights and had dinner there twice - just because it was so good. Steak was perfectly cooked and fish was excellent, as well.

From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and special. Chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and it was a great experience! We were a little early and got to wait at a exceptional old fashioned bar. It was busy but the female bartender was on top of it, kept track of everyone, who was waiting for what, and what everyone was drinking. She was exceptional and made a killer cocktail. When we were seated, at a romantic table, we were lucky enough to have Karen as our waitress. Her dinner suggestions were perfect. She was attentive without being overbearing and timed the courses perfectly. Soup was delicious and seafood cooked to perfection. Though it was a busy night we never felt rushed and enjoyed every course. All the staff worked in concert to make it a perfect evening. Cannot say enough good things about this restaurant.
