Do not be put off by the outside esthetics. The hotel is clean, comfortable beds, lovely little outside garden in the center of the hotel. VERY QUIET. Restaurant elegant food excellent.
Hallways expansive , high ceilings , quiet cooling systems.
We were extremely surprised by this little gem in the Berkshires.
Staff very friendly .

We stayed for two nights in September. From the outside the building looks nothing special but inside it's full of fine furniture, nice prints etc. The reception was very friendly, the room comfortable and the food good. There is a pleasant little swimming pool. It's really nice to sit out and have dinner on the terrace if the weather permits.

if you go, you must visit the excellent Clark Institute which is a stunning collection of fine art.

The Orchards Hotel had been the premiere hotel in Williamstown but has not been updated in years. The bathrooms are vintage 1960s with low sinks and lime green tiles. Furniture is dated and worn out There is a new hotel in town - Tourists, which will give them some competition. This is a hotel owned by a premiere upscale chain and they should put some money into the hotel. Will not stay there again.

A 3 night stay in August on visit to Williamstown provided a decent room, but did experience long waits at breakfast due to short staff. Planned to return for an October visit, but the 3rd party reservation confirmation we had booked and paid for in May was bumped without notice due to overbooking. Had we not called the inn with a question about the reservation, we would have arrived without knowing that we had no place to stay.

Spacious, comfortable room; large bathroom; quiet, attractive pool area; nice, sit-down breakfast with a good selection. Morning coffee available in the lobby at 6:30. Front desk was helpful and friendly. Located off of Rt 2, so convenient to Clark, Williamstown Art Museu, MassMOCA. We would definitely come back.
