Description: Longfellow's Wayside Inn is a unique part of the historic landscape of Massachusetts, and the oldest operating American Inn. Featuring an authentic building style and traditional New England food, we offer the ideal location for romantic nights out, banquets, family events, company parties, and weddings. Our menu provides exceptional quality at great value, including hearty portions and seasonal foods. We encourage our guests to spend a day with us, touring the serene and historic grounds, enjoying a drink in our 300-year old Tavern, and settling in for dinner in one of our historic rooms. We have an open patio in the warmer months, and lit fireplaces through winter.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of dining in this quaint restaurant in Sudbury Ma. It’s worth the drive to this picturesque Inn. Come early to spend time walking the grounds, the museum and the gift shop. The food is delicious and generously portioned. Just to mention a few dinners we tried Chicken Pot Pie, Lobster Macaroni and Cheese and the Turkey dinner were excellent. We’re definitely coming back.

We had a very good dinner with excellent service provided by Sara. Stopping by while in the area viewing the beautiful fall foliage we were seated promptly for dinner. (We stayed here several years ago and the historic Inn is amazing!)
The bartender suggested the pomegranate Cosmo which was about the best Cosmo I’ve ever had. He was very friendly and cordial.
Our server Sara was very friendly, and gave excellent prompt attentive service. The portions were very generous. As a vegetarian there are a couple menu options and I ordered the risotto cakes and root veggies which was a very large portion! He had scallops which he said were great. I tasted his mashed potatoes which were delicious, Also the muffins served were SO good! I almost asked for more to take home! The Inn has more seating than appears from the exterior as I peeked around the several dining rooms, grounds were beautiful. We hope to return soon to stay over a couple days.
Overall excellent! A beautiful fall day!

Charming environment, if you have the time, walk around and take a peek at the other rooms. Very interesting to see the period fire places and woodwork. From appetizers to their desserts, they have many choice. The food was delicious, we had prime rib and sea scallops. Service was exceptional, provided by our waiter, Eddie.
