“Great place for apples and donuts”
Review of Shelburne Farm

We've been coming here for years to pick our apples, and our now-20 something daughters still come with us. There can be a line to pay to pick, but take your bag and go all the way back into the orchard and you'll have plenty of room with hardly anyone around you.

Back by the Apple Shop, get your cider and donuts and enjoy the live music they always seem to have. SKIP THE GRILL. This is its 3rd or 4th year and they still haven't figured out how to run it.

All in all, a great place to spend a couple of hours on a fall afternoon.

My husband always visited Shelburne farms when he was a boy, and now we have enjoyed going back as adults.

The cider doughnuts here are far superior to the other orchards nearby (in my opinion).

This orchard is USUALLY less busy than the nearby Honey Pot Hill, so it is a good alternative for family apple picking.

We went on a Friday and nearly had the place to ourselves. They will be much more crowded on Saturday and Sunday.

Staff was friendly and courteous and we had a delightful time picking apples for a couple of pies.

Before we left we bought some Apple Cider, and Apple Cider Donuts, a great seasonal favorite.

We have also been here on a weekend. It was still fun, if more hectic. But if you can sneak out on a weekday do, and enjoy the sense of relaxation.

Not as quaint as many other orchards in the area. And a little on the expensive side. Not my favorite place to pick apples!

go here and all you will do is wait. wait in lines to get tickets and apple bags. wait in line, and get cut, to ride the hayride. [the woman 'managing' the line was too busy on her phone to make sure that the people who actually waited in line got on the hayride and just let people who walked right up get on. meanwhile, the line was about 30 minutes long and this happened over and over again.] but once you did get on it was a nice long ride around the orchard. you wait in line to get cider donuts. the line was so long that i never got the donuts. i just couldn't wait that long. but, from what i saw the donuts looked to be too greasy as the takeout bags were soaked.

moral of the story, this place is all about the hype and it's really not worth all the waiting in line to experience a sub par orchard. there are so many in this area that you can definitely do better.
