You can never go wrong at Highland Kitchen! Excellent burger and fries, creative appetizers and entrees, always at least one AMAZING vegetarian option, great beer selection and fun cocktails. Oh, and the warm banana bread pudding is mind boggling. If you go early, it's also very family-friendly. Give the kids quarters for the funky juke box!

We enjoyed their unique menu with lots of small plates options including fried green tomatoes. The buffalo brussel sprouts were hot and tasty and the ricotta mozzarella fritters were different and quite good. The potato gnocchi with short rib ragu hit it out of the park. The sandwiches were very good and you get good-sized portions. They serve delicious bread and butter, too. Liked the fact that you will find something different here -- not the boring standard pub fare. Tyler, our server, was great. Fast service and very attentive staff helping out, too. Highly recommend. Free parking lot behind the restaurant.

Go early to snag a table. The line gets long. The atmosphere is LOUD but the food is inventive and worth any wait (well, almost any wait). Friendly staff and clientele. Definite hipster vibe (it IS Somerville after all). Be patient and ENJOY!

It was not a half chicken. It was mostly bones and price has been increased. Really I would not recommend.

I've been to Highland Kitchen several times in the past year since moving to the neighborhood. There's almost always a wait, even if you arrive on the early side. Anywhere from 20-45 minutes usually, depending on the day. I always have incredible cocktails and entrees here. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. Nice for a special occasion or date night. Brunch is always a hit here as well.
