Caffe Bella has been in this location for as long as i can remember. When i first visited here, there were not many other options around for dinner, La Scala down the road a bit later Not Your Average Joe's opened, and i wondered that now there were so many more choices around if Caffe Bella might have suffered in a downturn of customers, which usually indicates a drop in standards.
I couldn't be more wrong.
The place was packed from the moment we walked in to the moment we left, and the food, well, it was as good as ever if not better!
We got there about 5.30, the place opens at 5 and was 90% full when we arrived.
We were waiting on 2 of our party and couldn't get seated till everyone arrived, however the lovely lady hostess asked us how far away they were as she only had one table left, we told her they were close so she kindly seated us so we wouldn't lose the table. Nice!
Caesar salad here is one of the freshest i've had, crisp and not drenched in dressing, delicious.
I had seared cod special served with Swiss chard and roasted potatoes, excellent dish.
#2 had tagliatelle with gulf shrimp with tomato and asparagus, this was insanely good, in fact i ate most of it.
#3 had the pork tenderloin special served with mash potato and sprouts, i'm guessing this incredible too as the next time i looked, it had all gone!
Wonderful service from Alice who was an absolute delight, friendly staff throughout really, i have nothing but positive things to say about Caffe Bella, i'm not waiting too long to revisit!
