Description: Celebrating our 30th anniversary, the historic 1840 Captain Linnell House is home to Cape Cod's most distinguished fine dining restaurant as well as an award winning Cape Cod wedding, rehearsal dinner, and corporate venue site. We are located in Orleans, MA around the corner from Skaket Beach, a picturesque setting for a Cape Cod beach wedding ceremony. The Captain Linnell House is chef owned and offers expertly prepared classic fare - from iced Wellfleet oysters, escargot and baby kale salad, to entrees of rack of lamb, Black Angus prime rib, roast duckling with fresh raspberries, scrod n' parchment, and much more. We go as local and organic as possible. A three course $35.00 Prix Fixe Menu is offered from Mid-September thru June. Enjoy dining in one of our unique dining rooms. Our garden room looks out over a spacious lawn with the sunset in the distance. Fireplaces grace the other two. We are off the beaten path but finding us is memorable!

What a wonderful experience we had at the Captain Linnell House this past Tuesday evening, September 5, 2017. Our server, David, did an outstanding job and was very amicable throughout our meal. His spirit of friendliness and attention to detail added much to the wonderful evening. Our choices for Appetizers were: Popes Mussels, excellent and could have been a main entree; crab cakes, superb; clam chowder and salad, both great. The Entrees: prime rib cooked perfectly; breast of duck, delicious with a moist and excellent sauce; the scrod in parchment was perfect; the salmon was very moist and delectable and the bouillabaisse with a hint of saffron was the best I've ever had. The delicious desserts included: hot fudge sundae, lemon sorbet, caramel brownie sundae, skaket mess and carrot cake. We cannot say enough about this wonderful dining experience - starting with the warm greeting by the friendly, professional hostess who seated us, the exceptional service by David, the outstanding meal by William Conway, Chef - Owner and the beauty and charm of Captain Linnell House. We can't wait to return!

We had dinner here with a party of seven adults and every person in our group absolutely loved their food and the atmosphere of this restaurant.

I started with the lobster bisque which was light and tasty and had lots of lobster pieces.

For my main course I had A pasta dish with a Ragu sauce and I don't think I was able to finish even a quarter of what they provided me with. It had a wonderfully tasting meat sauce and I'm looking for to having it for dinner tonight.

One of our party had the prime rib which looked like it came out of a Flintstones cartoon. It was one of the largest pieces of meat that I've seen ever served at a restaurant. It was also very tender and tasty.

I'm already looking forward to taking my wife here with just the two of us. We will certainly be sharing an entrée.

We arrived at 8 pm and they did not let us in. The opening hours of the restaurant oficially were until 9 pm.

Coming from Germany to spend some days at Cape Cod and to visit this famous restaurant, this attitude seemed nor to be very flexible for us, neither customer friendly.

We dined at the Linnell House with another couple. The evening was excellent from cocktails through dinner. The waitstaff was friendly and efficient. The seafood and duck were fresh, well prepared, and very tasty. The wine list was very good as well.

The restaurant is best for adults who enjoy a quiet evening in beautiful surroundings, white linen, and excellent food.

We were surprised that the prices were not outrageous, for the restaurant was as good or better than any we have been to recently. The waiter was friendly and informative - and quick! Our roast beef and filet were perfectly cooked and accompanied by well prepared sides. And the atmosphere in this beautifully maintained Cape mansion was magical. We shall return!
