A VERY welcoming and accommodating staff with great breakfasts by Stu, made to order. I recommend a pot of tea and the smoked salmon!
The rooms are very lovely--and you feel as if you have gone back in time with the Louis XV additions!
The Paris room is quite unique in that the bedroom is upstairs! One gets the feeling of being on board a ship up there. It is very spacious with views from both front and back, so you can see the river and the town as well--sunrise and sunset! The toiletries smell amazing and permeate the room.
I have visited 5 times already for business at the hospital and always book the same room--like a home away from home.
Everything is within walking distance and the restaurants are numerous and varied!
I recommend Loretta--its new location is exquisite and The Grog has $1 oysters and a cozy pub atmosphere with some beautiful bead art that is amazing.
The Garrison Boutique Hotel is the only choice for me and my husband!

My fifth stay and I can not say enough great things about this hotel.
The staff is friendly and beyond helpful. You are walking distance to many restaurants and shops even in the snow.

Highly recommend if you are in the area and want to be pampered this is the place.

The room was pleasant with a very comfortable bed. Desk personnel were very welcoming and accommodating. The prepared breakfast was superb!! All in all a most enjoyable stay, within easy walking distance of restaurants and theater in downtown Newburyport. We'd go back in a minute.

Room Tip: They are all nice.

The Garrison is a class act in the old world sense with great rooms, charm and ambience. Located in-town within walking distance of everything. Custom made breakfasts are an extra treat to get your motor started in the morning.

Room Tip: Loft rooms offer extra privacy
