My wife and I were going to take my mother out for lunch the other day to a Haddad's in Brant Rock which was unfortunately closed. They will reopen beginning in February. Since we were in Brant Rock we went next door to Venus 2. The recent storm doesn't seem to have affected them when we visited. The raised building probably helped.
To enter there is a choice of either stairs or a ramp with rails for those who can't use the stairs. Since our trio all have knee problems the ramp was an obvious choice. Getting seated didn't take long and we were shown to a table on a raised platform that wasn't difficult to get onto to and roomy enough for 3 adults, two of whom had rather large purses.
Menus and a bowl of popcorn were served quickly. The popcorn was a tad too salty but still good enough for snacking. The extra salt keeps the drinks flowing but for us it was iced tea and Diet Pepsi.
The menu had plenty to choose from and we choose baked scallops, fried scallops, and baked scrod. It did't take long for the order to be delivered to the table Everything was great. I didn't taste the other dishes but my fired scallops were hot and tasted great. The frying was light with no heavy grease taste. They came with sea salt fries which were lightly salted and also very good.
For the sports minded there seemed to be enough monitors to watch your favorite sports from anywhere.
We plan on going back and trying something else but may stick with the seafood since the fish market is almost next door.
