I booked this place last minute, received a good price and got an early check in which was great. I stayed in the King Suit which was very nice, but kind of defeated the purpose of staying in a bed and breakfast I thought but had much more privacy. (This was my first B&B so nothing to compare it to). It was the off-season so the places were completely dead which I thought was actually nice since there were no waits.

We only stayed one night so we wanted to fit a lot in one day but didn't really research it ahead of time so spent most of the time looking for stuff to do.

Susan was very nice and accommodating, but she didn't seem to know too much about the area, hiking trails etc… She sent us down to the chamber of commerce to find some information on stuff to do but they were no help. We went horseback riding and that was about it.

For breakfast I was expecting pancakes, French toast, sausage, bacon but unless I missed it, it wasn't there. Scrambled eggs, grits, toast, fresh fruit, ham etc.. was pretty amazing though.

Overall I would definitely stay here again, the location is PERFECT and Stan and Susan were both extremely nice and welcoming. The only thing I suggest is that you plan ahead of time, we didn't have a chance to meet anyone and find out any of the good places to go. It would have been nice to have a list and location of all the most popular hiking trails, zip lines, apple picking spots, attractions etc.

Hat's off to the innkeepers, Stan and Susan. We had a three-night stay in a charming and historic room with lots of atmosphere and comfortable as well. (The footed tub is great for soaking, not too much for showers, so if you need a roomy shower let the innkeepers know.) Breakfast was good and varied if not gourmet quality, and we appreciated having the flexibility of a window of time (8:30-10 AM) to eat breakfast. Stan had some excellent suggestions for restaurants and activities and provided some great historical perspectives on the house and community. This is also a very easy walk to the commercial center of Lenox for restaurants, shopping, etc. Go UVA!

We came to Lenox for a wedding weekend and had a perfect two-night stay. Our room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Stan is a very attentive innkeeper and made every effort to help us enjoy our stay in the Berkshires.

We came up to Hampton Terrace for my birthday to enjoy the Tanglewood Jazz Festival on Labor Day weekend, as well as the surrounding Berkshires. The most memorable aspects of our stay was the home itself - the inn is very pleasant, with cheerful, sunny rooms decorated very tastefully. Our room was gorgeous, and had its own jacuzzi tub and fireplace, looking over the pool and garden on the grounds. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the housekeeping service was efficient but not intrusive. Best of all was the service and attention - Stan, the inn owner, is there to help out at any point, and the breakfasts were amazing! We enjoyed some of the best homemade blueberry pancakes, I loved the well-seasoned Southern style grits, and the breakfast menu changes every day! The inn is also very conveniently located by the center of town, with some of the best restaurants and shops in the area just a 2 to 3 minute walk away, and is also within a mile or so from Tanglewood, so we were able to hang out near the town when we weren't attending concerts very easily. We will definitely come back - the cozy rooms with fireplaces should be especially inviting this Fall....
