We were really looking forward to this part of our trip, but felt really let down. Yes there is a harbour view, but we didn't expect a ferry terminal for large vessels, with all the accompanying noise and traffic. The young lady who checked us in was very pleasant and efficient. She told us the hotel did not provide breakfast, quite a surprise given the size and rating of the hotel. She said that they could recommend places for breakfast. We didn't have a car, and the only breakfast cafe nearby was unsuitable for my husband who is celiac. So for us this meant a 20 minute walk each way to Main Street. One morning was very wet and I asked at reception if the hotel had an umbrella we could borrow. The answer was no. Just a little detail that could make a difference to the whole guest experience!
We were allocated Room 227, overlooking the pool. It was dark and dreary. There was a damp/musty smell when entering the room. Just one ceiling light at the far end of the room, one table lamp, close to it. There was a rickety, tiny, old wardrobe housing the safe, two bathrobes and 3 hangers. Had to use my phone torch to see the keypad on the safe. We had two queen beds, only needed one, so used the second bed to lay our clothes flat. The bathroom was so tiny, nowhere to put toiletries etc.

On a postive note, the carpet was clean and looked relatively new. The bed was comfortable, with good quality bedding.

Had a first (and last) drink in the Bluewater Grille bar. Sitting outside we were shocked at the language and rowdy behaviour of a group of men, so moved away to another area.

On our last day, we were wakened at 6.30 am by loud, thumping music which appeared to be coming from the Bluewater Grille, where the lights were on. This continued for an hour. I mentioned this on checking out and the member of staff apologised and said it would be reported to the manager.

The hotel website gives an expectation of a high level of comfort and quality which in our case was sadly lacking.

Room Tip: The only access to the rooms on our level was via two staircases. Quite a challenge with heavy luggage.

The WORST bathroom we have ever encountered. Walls are sound proofed. Floor above very noisy just from people walking around. The only plus is location. Its next to ferry, shopping & restaurants. We stayed in building 3.
Keep looking!

Firstly I booked a "harbour view" and that really is a massive parking lot view, you can't see the harbour at all, maybe a few of the twinkle lights in the trees. Why even have a balcony with chairs looking at the ferry lots? so silly. We stayed in the renovated old building and the room was nice, bed was comfy, ac was good but the bathroom tiny, tiny! and... our neighbours were noisy until midnight and always coming out of their room as their closet shelf kept falling, well stop using it! so someone came to repair it but it fell again!! and of course more laughing and noise. I called the front desk and they didn't seem to care at all. Also they only open one pool at at time but it's your guess on which one is open. It was rainy and the indoor pool was closed when i tried to use it in the morning. Location is great, nice big room but be honest about your views!! i may give it another chance and book the newly renovated space as we do like the location.

Room Tip: avoid the parking lot view

There are two levels of rooms....one is the older area and one is an updated newer tower....tower being 4 stories high.

Definitely spend money on newer part of hotel. Bathrooms and rooms are larger and fresher.

Please be advised that parking is $15 a day and is not noted when making reservation. No restaurant or breakfast availability here, so there is a small cafe across street or you will need to walk to Main Street.

Fire pits and patios are a nice addition to main areas of hotel. Being across the street from ferries to Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard is a real plus!

My husband and I stay at this hotel every year in September and it never fails to disappoint! We stay in a room overlooking the pool which gives a great view of the courtyard and the harbor. The room was immaculate and the beds are extremely comfortable. It is in a great location within walking distance to several restaurants and across the street from the ferries to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. There is a great firepit in the courtyard to enjoy an evening cocktail and meet some great people. We always enjoy our stay here and look forward to going back next year!
