Owner description: Trip Advisor's #1 of 26 Tours in Gloucester, 7 Seas Whale Watch has had the privilege of introducing thousands of passengers to the many species of whales and marine wildlife that inhabit the waters from Cape Ann and out to the Stellwagen Bank Marine Sanctuary. Our trips run from mid-April to mid-October and are designed to educate, inspire and provide a deeper understanding and appreciation of our fragile marine environment. We are a family business – Three generations of career captains have worked from this very dock for more than 7 decades. We have a love and respect for the marine environment and a passion for providing the best possible customer experience for you and your family. We look forward to seeing you on the water.

I’ve been on 5 or more whale watches in the past, from many locations, which proved to be nothing more than a nice boat ride.
Two years ago, we saw a groupon for 7 Seasand decided to give it another try. So glad we did. We saw a huge pod of Atlantic dolphins, according to the scientist on board, it was two to three hundred in number. We must have watched them 15-20 minutes or more, while they just swam around feeding and such. We had to move on and about 20 minutes later we came upon 50 + bottle nose dolphins which don’t normally come this far north...had to move on from them. Not to long after that we hung out with 3 humpbacks that kept surfacing. After a lot of time with them it was time to head back.
Last summer we had success again and got to spend a lot of time with a mother and her calf. We all laughed because we saw the calf first, right at the boat, and we all thought that was huge. Imagine the reaction when Mom surfaced....WOW.

These were two highly successful watches. The crew on both excursions were top notch, friendly, and helpful.

I highly recommend 7 Seas if you want to have a good time!

My husband and I have not been whale watching since we were children. We both enjoyed this trip so much. We ended up seeing 13 whales in total, which we were told is not common. The captain of the boat got us up very close to whales. And our narrator was so knowledgeable about all the whales and their markings it was very impressive. Most of the whales swam under our boat and came up on the other side. So everyone was able to get a good look at them. We would definitely recommend this tour.

The most amazing experience in my life. It was very nice boat trip. Staff are very friendly. We saw 2 humpback whales so close to the boat. It was unbelievable.
Make sure to take warm clothes, mittens, hat and scarf.

Found 7 Seas on Trip Advisor, and booked a trip for myself, husband and son who attends college in the Boston area. Easy drive up, and Cape Ann area lovely area to explore!
Due to predicted storm, our trip became the last of the season, and the experience was wonderful. Tracked several whales and had numerous sightings up close and personal!!
Staff and crew could not have been nicer!! Several of those on the boat experienced seasickness, and the crew were quick to respond. Seasickness bands and dramamine were available for purchase prior to boarding should you feel the need, and refreshments were available on board, including beer/wine.
Friendly, caring employees made a good trip great- Completely satisfied and would recommend!!
