We recently spent 2 nights in this comfortable old Inn. Our room on the 2nd floor had such amazing views of the beach, surfers and the water with two lighthouses on an island directly on front. The fridge in the room was great and we were able to eat our lunch and breakfast on the balcony while enjoying the view. It was nice to have the complimentary coffee, tea and a sweet from the lobby in the morning. There was always something interesting to see on the beach and we enjoyed two walks down the length of the beach and to the headland at the end. It is a short drive into touristy Rockport where we had a delicious supper and unmatched view of the harbor at the Blue Lobster. On the advice of the friendly gardener at the Inn,we took.our kayak and paddled the length of the Annisquam river. What a delightful paddle, starting in Gloucester and ending in the ocean by a large white sandy point and a beautiful lighthouse a short paddle along the coast ! Watching the many surfers directly in front of our room was also interesting. We enjoyed dinner at the Seaport Grill in Gloucester . The Inn isn't fancy but cozy and in an unbeatable location. We imagine it becomes rather noisy in the height of the tourist season as the rooms are not very soundproof. We could hear a dog running overhead during our 2nd night. We really enjoyed our visit there and look forward to returning.
