The Hob Knob is a traditional inn situated at the far end of the Main Street, away from the harbour. There are other inns/hotels more in the centre but either way, it's only a few minutes' walk. It's also very convenient for the bus stop, where you can catch buses all over the island. We liked the traditional style of the inn, particularly the veranda, although it was too cold for us to sit outside at the end of October. A lot of shops and restaurants in Edgartown were closed while we were there but this didn't bother us too much as we were only there for a couple of days. We really liked Edgartown as a location, particularly the links to the Jaws film. The staff at the Hob Knob were all helpful and friendly and we particularly liked the complimentary afternoon tea, even though this wasn't like a traditional British afternoon tea. The communal lounges with open fires were very welcoming. The breakfasts were fresh and plentiful. Our room had everything we needed for a short stay - although it might be worth providing slippers in the rooms for guests. We really liked the Hob Knob and would consider staying here again if we ever go back to Martha's Vineyard.
