We stayed in the suite in the front of the house, room 18. It was a lovely room with a separate sitting room and kitchenette. The chef made an amazing breakfast with sustainable local foods each morning, the spa downstairs was a great plus in winter and location perfect for walking to town!
Only small negative was trucks driving by on main road in early morning could wake me up, but I'm a light sleeper.

So sorry about the trucks...but glad you enjoyed our Private Suite, it is a gem! Thank you for recognizing our culinary team as well, we try very hard to make sure we are supporting all the wonderful farmers on MV...and breakfast IS the most important meal of the day! Hope you will visit us again soon.

Cheers,

Diane and the HK Crew!

Loved the Hob Knob so much that I am already planning a return trip. Perfect location and the staff was so helpful and nice. It was so hard to leave the warm and soft bed every morning, but knowing there was another delicious breakfast helped :) Enjoyed the tasty afternoon treats by the fireside. The onsite massages were the cherry on top!

Room tip: 3rd floor room was nice and quiet

The Hob Knob is a traditional inn situated at the far end of the Main Street, away from the harbour. There are other inns/hotels more in the centre but either way, it's only a few minutes' walk. It's also very convenient for the bus stop, where you can catch buses all over the island. We liked the traditional style of the inn, particularly the veranda, although it was too cold for us to sit outside at the end of October. A lot of shops and restaurants in Edgartown were closed while we were there but this didn't bother us too much as we were only there for a couple of days. We really liked Edgartown as a location, particularly the links to the Jaws film. The staff at the Hob Knob were all helpful and friendly and we particularly liked the complimentary afternoon tea, even though this wasn't like a traditional British afternoon tea. The communal lounges with open fires were very welcoming. The breakfasts were fresh and plentiful. Our room had everything we needed for a short stay - although it might be worth providing slippers in the rooms for guests. We really liked the Hob Knob and would consider staying here again if we ever go back to Martha's Vineyard.

Sarah,

Thanks! We are glad you had a great time and thanks for pointing out how close the walk is to the bus stop and to town. It is definitely a slower, quieter time of year and great for relaxing and exploring. Come see us again!

Cheers,

Beautiful, charming, comfortable, friendly, lovely. And the breakfast is amazing. Highly recommended to anyone who wants elegance and comfort and a short walk into town. To top it off they offer an afternoon tea with delicious snacks.

We stayed for 4 nights at The Hob Knob and completely enjoyed it. Diane, Bonnie and the rest of the staff are truly wonderful, kind and accommodating.

The inn is beautiful, clean and neat. We loved the fireplace and sitting in front of it in the afternoon for tea and cheese, crackers, cookies etc when it was cool enough to do so.

The inn is very well located within walking distance to all that we wanted to do in Edgartown. We did take a car so we were able to get around Martha's Vineyard how we wanted to and over to Chappaquiddick. But around Edgartown we walked and it was nice. Do note that this is not in the exact downtown of Edgartown where the historical homes are on the ocean but it is within walking distance.

Our room was on the first floor and because of the time of year they had shut off the air conditioning for the 1st floor of the inn....I learned that in October (fall) they shut down the a/c and have full control of the first floor (the other floors have their own a/c in rooms is what I was told). I would have to say that this was not comfortable as it was very warm when we were there and our room could have been cooled down with a/c but we didn't have it. We opened the windows and ran the fan as they told us to but that did not make a difference and I didn't like having to leave the windows open on the first floor day/night. Plus in the morning we could hear workers outside of our room. I wish I would have been told this prior to booking and staying....I would have booked a different room if I had known.

I would definitely return again. We enjoyed our stay and everyone at the inn.
