Great atmosphere and food but service a bit lacking, maybe just an off night. Hidden away, could maybe do with a bigger roadside sign to help find it.

Most restaurants along route 6 seem alike and most are good. Our summer favorites were not yet open, but we were happy to find Local Break. Good comfort food and shore fare. We will be back in the summer as well. Nice people and good wine.

When you've had enough seafood and want a great meal, excellent service in a friendly low key environment, try The Local Break behind Idle Times Bike Shop on Rte. 6 in Eastham. We go every chance we get and have never been disappointed. I recommend the fried chicken with sweet potatoe waffles, collard greens and sausage gravy. They also have great gluten free menu items.

You may miss the red and white sign. It’s low and buried a bit among a mess of signage just after the “you can see it from space” Cumberland Farms at the Brackett Road lights. But if you pull off even after the sign, the parking lot is large enough to circle back around so you can head to the back where Local Break is. The dining room doesn’t look like much , pretty standard cape cod fair with a bar on one side and table and booths around the walls. But it’s the menu that will surprise you. Sure many menu’s have mussels but their green curry preparation; delicious. How many local places can pull off a duck ragu, gumbo fritters, whiskey fennel and a lemongrass soup. This is comfort food served on a fusion menu. I haven’t worked my way thru the whole menu yet, but I am trying and I haven’t been disappointed with any one of the offering yet
