The sign along Route 6A in Dennis caught our eye--homemade ice cream. Who could refuse that?
On a beautiful sunny day, an inviting temptation that did not disappoint. Noticing the window sign to "Save the Smuggler," we asked what we were saving to be told by the friendly owner that his landlady was addicting him to rent to another ice cream parlor. <Horrors!!!>
Sampling the chocolate ice creams, we opted for a double scoop, the chocolate peanut butter--a delicious blend of both- and chocolate chocolate chip, made from the original shop owner's recipe. My wife thought it could have used more chocolate, but then she likes deep, rich cocoa flavor. Nonetheless, it was a generous portion of refreshing, good homemade ice cream. Staff is friendly, place is clean, and if they're still there next year, we'll be back for another. Let's hope they can Save the Smuggler!
