Description: Our new location in Braintree is making a splash. Designed to evoke memories of vintage seafood restaurants, the space offers as many seating options as fish in the sea. Those looking to satisfy any thirst (or hunger) for fun, can choose between our bar, oyster bar or table and booth seating alongside the open kitchen. In warm weather, a glass wall slides back to a large patio. Our menu includes all the Legal Sea Foods classics, but also some specialties of the house that will reel you in. And our late night menu, available Monday through Saturday, begins two hours before close. We're located right off of Route 93 in South Shore Place, across the street from South Shore Plaza.

Stopped in after picking up our daughter from a late train. We arrived about 10:30 and sat at the bar. My daughter ordered lobster bisque (excellent) and a salad with grilled shrimp (not great/not awful). She had a glass of wine, my husband and I both had a cocktail that was underwhelming (warm, watery). The soup came out 30 minutes after ordering and the salad 40 minutes later. Usually we don't criticize the time it takes to get food because we aren't in a rush when we dine out. However, given how late it was and that what was ordered wasn't complicated, it's worth noting the slow service. This is the first Legal Seafood I've been to that hasn't been excellent. We'd try it again as everyone has an off night.

I was really in the mood for oysters and thought about our options after the movies. We took advantage of Costco's $100 gift cards for $80. This Braintree location was almost full at 9:15 on a Friday and the atmosphere was inviting; the bar area is large enough for a fun dining experience too. We decided to eat on the heated terrace which also has a view of the tvs above the bar so we could follow the Sox game.

We each had a dozen oysters. There was 5 types but one was sold-out. I liked the Cotuits and my husband liked the Stand Shore best. They were perfectly chilled, plump, well filled with liquid and presented with extra horseradish as requested.

The shrimp cocktail was a perfect texture and a good flavor but I would not call them jumbo at all.

The wine flights were fun; none were terrible or memorable. I had #1 and my husband had #4.

ps. the dinner rolls are fabulous- hard outer crust, soft moist center with the right amount of yeasty flavor. Its hard not to overeat them!

Lunch - and something new - wine flights, which gave me a chance to taste something other than Malbec's from Argentina. Had no idea there were any other choices, and now I know better.
Lunch was as delicious as always, service prompt and friendly, and the addition of tasting a flight of reds made the meal even more enjoyable.

As we went into the restaurant, the staff at the desk told us we could have a table outside. All of a sudden, an employee, who seemed to be a supervisor, started arguing and said that we would have to wait 20 min. to eat outside- even though we had a reservation. The other employees had to correct her - it was extremely uncomfortable due to her demeanor and the way she spoke to us. Overall, our waitress was not great- busy w/ her friends at their table. She obviously knew them bc everytime we looked she was there chatting, even though we had needs at our table. A bit tired of this restaurant's low performance. Not worth the money compared to the Boston Legal restaurants where the customer service is worth the bill. Won't be returning.

We spent Father's Day Dinner at Legal Seafood. We were super excited until we were seated at our table...They actually have a table that faces the entrance to the restrooms within 6 feet of the doors and we were sat there! Horrible table location.. We saw every single person walk into the restroom then walk out and bump our table... Our waitress wasn't the best either. Servers have really gone down hill and not providing actual service to the customers. They are so put out and bothered by any question or request...The food was good, we ordered 2 Whole Lobsters, and a Lobster Roll, several appetizers and drinks.. Just a huge disappointment to spend $250 on Father's Day dinner and be seated pretty much in the restroom!
