What do you do when you lose power in a storm for two days? It's cold, it's windy, you're hungry. First Watch. The entire Timonium population ended up at First Watch, the wait got up to an hour long. Once seated, we were met by a very relaxed waitress, considering there were only three cooks and a line of people waiting out the door. The place was buzzing with servers moving as quickly as possible. We're patient people so we didn't mind the wait for our food. The biscuits with turkey sausage gravy hit the spot. I expected it to be somewhat cold under the circumstances, but the meal was piping hot and delicious. The potatoes were great and the coffee hot and fresh. Our waitress did not make us feel rushed and she even stopped to chat a moment about how busy they'd been since the customers were seeking refuge from the power outage. She even had another job to go to in the afternoon, which impressed us further that she was so easy going. First Watch prides itself on its staff just as much as its food. Some of the waitstaff has been there since they opened their doors. That says alot for a neighborhood diner. It's our gem for breakfast, brunch and lunch! We're regulars.

Every December 20th we honor my late husband by going to Mass and then to breakfast. This year there were thirty of us all descending on First Watch at 8:45 in the morning. They do not take reservations but I did give them a heads up that a sizable group would be coming.
They went out of their way to be accommodating and seated us at two large tables. Our waitress was Sarah and she seemed unphased by taking care of us. The food, as always, was first rate and was served promptly. The fact that there were many healthy choices was a big plus. Everyone loved what they had selected.
Needless to say you will find us at First Watch on December 20th next year!

First Watch is open for Breakfast and Lunch only. Their food is wonderful and full of flavor. The monthly specials are creative and fun to try! (Like the pumpkin pancakes in the Fall time!) By the way, the pancakes are HUGE! The salads are great and the breakfast eggs are impressive. They do a nice job with over-easy eggs. I mostly head over there for breakfast or meet a friend for lunch. They seem to be busy all the time! The staff is friendly. Hint: Get on their mailing list. You receive $2 off coupons monthly and a free meal for your birthday!

We went for a weekday breakfast around 0930 and service was a little slow but friendly. The food was excellent. I had the BLT Benedict with potatoes and it was quite good. My husband had the special pancake which he enjoyed. With coffee and tip, we spent $52 on breakfast.
