Usually stay in Lexington Park at a Marriott or Hilton, but all my usual places were booked, so took a chance on Island Inn. The room was very spacious, as well as balcony and very nice solid wood deck furniture on the balcony. If I had known the rooms better, I would have requested one on the back side though as the front rooms overlook the parking lot and road before getting to the water. The breakfast is minimal but did have hot options with a waffle maker and biscuits/gravy which was nice to see and a selection of juices. The trip there feels longer though the back roads and looking for the various turns than it probably really it. The drive back to town in the morning felt much shorter. Staff was courteous, though the only time we talked was check in and out. Only negative was that I booked the room very late at night about an hour before I got there so the AC had not been turned on yet, so the room was well into the 80's but the AC and open deck door got it cooling down quickly.
I didn't get to try the Ruddy Duck right next door, but have been to the one in Solomon's Island so I'd expect a similar good menu and beer selection. Not many other options in the immediate area though.More
