We booked this hotel to stay the night after our late evening channel crossing from the UK. The hotel is well priced and our room was spacious & clean. A few marks on the walls and the carpet in the corridor, but nothing too off putting.
The hotel is dog friendly and parking is free - both of which were a must for us.
The only con I can think of is that we only got one towel each (large bath towels) and no small hand/hair towels.
Breakfast isn't that great, so I'd suggest bringing something with you instead of paying 9 euros to eat there.

Modern hotel, on outskirts of a business park, next to car dealerships and a good restaurant- one of the few in Douai! The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The hotel has a restaurant which presents very acceptable food - but not every night so you need an alternative. The is one in Dechy itself, opposite the church, and one a 3 minute walk around the corner. The hotel itself was clean and quiet. We stayed 3 nights, and picked this location because we have stayed almost everywhere else and wanted to check out another location. The Centre Historique Minier is worth a visit, but Douai itself is not as interesting as Arras or Amiens

Room Tip: All seemed equal to us

Dear ChrisBrown38,

we hope you had a nice trip in France.
We thank you very much for your visit and your share of experience in our hotel.
All around the hotel our guest will have the possibility to discover the centre historique minier, The Louvre Lens, and the Old town an the Cartreuse museum in Douai.
Our guest can actually taste a new menu in our restaurant, with specialized food of our region Hauts de France, The Cambrai's Andouillette and the Potjevleesch, for exemple.
We hope to see you in a short futur,
Best regards,

Stayed for 4 nights, no sleep the first night because our room was next to the reception toilet, all we could hear into the early hours of the morning was the door slamming and people using the toilet. Asked for change of room next morning which was done with no problem although they should have known of the noise from the toilet disturbing the room we were in. Rooms were clean, breakfast was basic, no evening meals available and with the hotel being in a industrial area there was nowhere to go for evening meal unless you caught a taxi into the next town.

Stayed here for 4 nights while on the Somme Centenary Tour. It's on an industrial estate and to its rear is a distribution depot....so sleeping with the window open in a rear facing room means a very early wake up call from lorries reviving their engines. The rooms were clean and house keeping was fine.
Only 1 staff member seemed pleasant...the rest...unhelpful at best.
The staff couldn't seem to cope at breakfast....and refused to cook evening meals. So a 30€ taxi ride to the nearest town was the only option to going hungry.
It was 7.50€ a pint....if they actually could be bothered to serve you....and it had more head than Beachy.
It's probably not the best hotel for bus party's.....but a travelling if you're a salesman passing through...you're fine!!

This hotel is on an industrial estate in the middle of nowhere. So it will cost you a fortune in taxis if you want to go out at night. Believe me you will want to go out as the restaurant is very poor. Only offers two choices of meal and not very good. We stayed here with a coach party during the Somme commeration service and they could'nt provide enough cups and plates at breakfast. We had to queue at the kitchen to get a dirty cup washed. On the positive side the room was adequate and clean but our air com dripped and left a puddle of water by the door a dangerous slip hazard. The staff on the first night were friendly but the next three nights we has very rude and unhelpful staff who did'nt want to leave the food they were eating at the reception to serve at the bar. We should have had wifi but the signal was so poor we could'nt get on during our stay.
