You order at the counter and get your drinks at the soda fountain. They also serve beer and cider. And then you can sit: a waiter/waitress brings your order to the table and takes care of the used plates. The crab cakes are very very good: we live in DC, and every time we find ourselves “in the area” we make a point of stopping in. And we have never been disappointed!

This very casual Chesapeake eatery is justifiably famous for its no-filler crab cakes. Each crab cake is approximately 4 oz. of pristinely fresh Maryland crab. You can choose a one cake or two cake platter which comes with two sides; we chose the home made cole slaw and the fries (among the best I have ever tasted), You place your order at the counter and your food is brought to you when ready. You are also given a choice between house made tartar sauce and cocktail sauce -- the tartar sauce is really excellent.

Now, about those filler-free crab cakes. I can understand why so many object to crab cakes that are more cheap, artificial tasting filler than crab. On the other hand, lump crab can be delightfully enhanced with judicious use of spices, fresh breadcrumbs, egg, home-made mayo all pulled together just before pan frying in butter. Without these enhancements, the plain cooked crab meat comes across as rather plain. We were able to make up for this by adding judicious quantities of their excellent tartar sauce, Old Bay seasoning and hot sauce. I love the concept, but the use of well-chosen, well-constructed filler can make a crab cake more than the sum of the parts.

A relaxing and easy place to enjoy a nice hearty meal after a long day of driving!!

Stopped by to check the place out. The Staff is family like and works together in unison. The prices are reasonable. The food is nicely prepared and very tasty. Have some unique takes on menu choices. Prices are good

Cute little place. Casual. Wonderful food. Visited with an infant, a toddler, and 4 adults for lunch. Plenty of parking available right off main street.

If you are in North East, Maryland you really need to stop at this restaurant . Where you want a really good crab cake or a burger, this is a very good place to go. I had the crab cakes and they were really good, while my husband had the burger and he said it was really good. This is a small place and many of the locals eat here.
