We happened upon the Mill while driving the Horses and Hounds scenic byway. We stopped in not knowing what to expect. Chris, of the Friends of the Jerusalem Mill, was doing some routine work and kindly stopped his work to tell us the mills fascinating story. His organization has done a wonderful job restoring the buildings they have. But, I keep thinking this place has potential to be so much more. It could be a mini Williamsburg!
The Gunnpowder river flows by. We heard a group of young children waiting in the stream. Seems like it could be ideal for that. There are hiking trails as well. Apparently, the stream is also open to fishing.
We spent about an hour or so, but a family could easily make it a day.
