Owner description: Once the heart of a bustling Quaker settlement in the 18th and 19th centuries, the 230-year old Jerusalem Mill is now a Museum and Visitor Center.

This place seems like a nice collection of historic buildings, and it kind of is. However... the blacksmith shop was bristling with activity, and although we have seen many blacksmiths in action, it's always kind of fascinating, so we watched. Next was a trip across the street to the mill, which was closed. It's run by volunteers, but the person for the mill was not able to open up. So we wandered to the Miller's house behind it, and talked about muskets with a volunteer there. My 6-year-old granddaughter was not terribly impressed, and was getting a bit impatient, so we took off for two other things, which both turned out to be fun.

First, we walked down to the Gunpowder River which runs right next to the mill (as rivers tend to do), and walked along the shore, across a footbridge, and across some rocks. She loved the exploration. The next stop was the mill's general store a couple hundred yards away. Much more activity here, and there was a scavenger hunt for the kids, which turned out to be fun for her. It was a nice stop and a pleasant visit.

We love visiting Jerusalem Mill. On Sundays they have a blacksmith exhibit & period style clothing & history tours. While you're there go on a walk on there many differant paths that follow the creek, have a picnic, fly a kite, go tubing. It's a quiet family oriented must see.

I enjoy visiting here. The museums, giftshop/old general store, black smith shop, nature trails are very cool and informative to experience. Great picnic area and fishing areas too. Don't forget to visit the old historic (and haunted) Jericho Covered Bridge!

I learned to blacksmith here! The volunteer group that are the caretakers this place do a wonderful job. There are horse trails and a river runs through it! If you bring a dog you MUST keep them on a leash because of the horses!
