This is definitely a local hangout, the fishermen hang out here. The menu is99% breakfast sandwiches. Everything is fried except for the bread that the sandwiches come on. It's a "been there, done that" type of place.
Very loud when the fisherman get off of their boats.

This is where the locals/waterman go to shoot the breeze and catch up on the local gossip. They still serve old style coca cola. Aka by the locals "A Gordon's Coke" and if you like coffee, they both are a must. Look past the old run down dirtiness, and order some food. The employees are very nice and help full.

Friendly staff, swift service. The milkshakes were good, the grilled cheese with bacon was fine, the crabcakes were not plump, but they were tasty and homemade. The steak fries and Krinkle fries were crispy and hot. I did not like the coffee; I understand this is due to the local water, and many of the locals like it just fine! I hear the lima bean soup is good, but they don't make it on the weekend. Fun to sit in or out and watch the people wandering by. The décor is peeling paint, rust, and Little Debbies. Try this place for a funky home made soda or a cheap quick bite, but don't go if you're a neat freak.

Gordon's isn't just a restaurant. It's the hub of Crisfield community. Folks don't just go to eat, they go to visit. It's a small unassuming place with a few rickety tables and about 7-8 stools tucked up under a counter stacked high with Tastykakes and Little Debbie's. But check out the five busy people working the grill and you know that business is booming. People of all generations pop in to say hi and pick up sandwiches. Older men perch around the tables and catch up on news of the day. Ladies gossip. Everyone knows each other. But smile and say hello and you are welcomed right in the mix.

Don't miss the real sodas made with syrup, the zips (flavored ice milk that to me was more refreshing than a milkshake) and the ammonia laced drinks that "will cure what ails you." Fresh sausage sandwiches were hearty and good.

Yes, be aware that it's kind of a greasy-spoon joint. Yes, there are no public bathrooms and the furnishings may just be original.

The food is okay but it's the community soul that feeds this place. If that intrigues you, it's definitely worth a stop.

Gordon's is small and quaint and has more character than you would expect. You have to allow yourself to take a step back and appreciate the character it offers. It isn't fancy, but it's not supposed to be. The service is friendly. It has a diner feel, and you have to try the homemade soda! It's beyond affordable, and if I ever make it back to Crisfield, I can't wait to visit again!
