My husband and I stumbled upon this place a few years ago in our travels. Great seafood fresh and steamed. Good specials as well for reasonable price. No frills casual dining. We came down to Chesapeake city for the day to eat here.

(Only "complaint" are the Bathrooms are extremely tight and not the most appealing...would be great to have a sink outside of restrooms to wash your seafood hands). Service is good - hostess was not that welcoming/friendly.

Went for a day trip to the Chesapeake. Stopped for crabs at the Tap Room.
Delicious! Also had the cole slaw and fries with a pitcher of beer!
Could not finish, but the waitress was kind enough to keep the crabs in the fridge for us until we were ready to go!
Would recommend this place if you want crabs!

Weekend without the children, looking for a nice place to enjoy lunch. Crabs may be local but at $68 per dozen, certainly over priced. To start, we ordered two bloody marys (watered down tomato juice and horseradish) and one dozen steamed clams. Clams were tasteless and rubbery, served only with melted margarine. Asked for the bill, total was $32.20!!! Went to Jake's Wayback in Middletown, De where we enjoyed burgers for half that cost. By far, the superior meal.

Tried this local restaurant when we stayed at a local B & B. If you are in the mood for fresh shrimp, crabs or lobsters, this is the place for you. It is very rustic, you get a wooden mallet and crack your own. But everything is super fresh and delicious.

Hubby and I went to the Tap Room last night for the first crabs of the season, a belated birthday dinner and a date night; the night before I called to confirm AYCE crabs and spoke to Debbie. I asked about AYCE crabs and told her when we were thinking of coming. She asked how big a party we would be and I said just a couple for a birthday dinner. When we arrived and sat down, she remembered our phone conversation!

Lots of great choices on the menu for meals and apps, but they also have a few options for AYCE. We chose "the feast." It is served in courses.

We started w the seafood chowder; it is a tomato creamy base w crab and shrimp; very good! Be warned: it has some kick to it.

Then they deliver you a salad (bigger than the avg. side salad) with either ranch dressing or a house vinaigrette (the house dressing is delicious!)

After the soup and salad courses, they deliver each person a large dinner sized plate of homemade French fries and steamed shrimp! This is not a small plate by any means. There were a dozen and half if not more large shrimp and steakhouse fries galore.

Almost as soon as we started on the shrimp Our ears of corn arrived and then the first round of crabs. My husband and I are die hards when it comes to AYCE crabs and we didn't finished the first tray of crabs; there were 2 crabs left and Debbie bagged them for me at the end.

The tray had at least 2 Dozen crabs on it seasoned perfectly! Most of the crabs were pretty heavy, but there were a few that had almost nothing in them. Even the light weights were delicious!!! We will definitely be back!
