Food was good. My friend and I both enjoyed our entrees (perogies and stew).
Beer selection was pretty good, but not great. I appreciated being able to buy smaller glasses so I could try more varieties. However, not all beers were offered in the smaller size. I don't understand that.
Service was very mediocre.

Note that tables use benches with no chair back, so might be hard on some backs.

Very convenient to Hyatt hotel.

A Bavarian beer hall a very short walk from the Bethesda Metrorail station. An excellent selection of primarily European beers with some American craft beers. Good food options on the German-inspired menu, but with Belgian-inspired "frites" which are far superior than anything Germany has ever done to a potato.

After a day of walking the Smithsonian the last thing this traveler wanted was to have to walk far for a cold one and some good food. Lucky for us it's just across the street from the Hyatt where we are staying. The fun part about this place is getting to try new beers. They have a huge selection. We also got dinner. I had the Belgian beer braised beef stew served over mashed potatoes. The meat was tender and it had carrots and peas in a nice thick beefy gravy. The ultimate comfort food. My husband was pleased with his sausage platter. He chose the kielbasa and brat from the list of 4 types. It was served with roasted red potatoes, red cabbage and spicy mustard. The place is noisy as expected for a beer pub/sports bar and the seating is community style. The service is good and prices are decent.

We live in Bethesda and this is our go to place in the metro area to come to for a pint and authentic Germanic food. The service is (waiter/waitress) always great (in particular Grace). We also have met the co-owner Mark who is also terrific. The schnitzel and braised cabbage are the best we have found anywhere in town.

Convenient location, about 1 block from Metro and in the center of downtown Bethesda. Numerous beers on draft and various serving sizes. We tried the Goulash and the beef stew. Both were too spicey for us. The waiter seemed very surprised when we told him so it's either us or others don't comment on the food. It is a place to come for beer not food. It would take a month of Sundays to sample each beer on tap. Service was a bit slow. It took about 25 minutes for our entrees to be served.
